I know why the abomination in the 1st glitch exists. All items in the game that are not currently supposed to be there at your current progress are stored at coordinates 0,0,-1000 and if you clip out of bounds you can even encounter enemies and it is a useful way to farm xp and it is the exact same in the first game as well

As of posting this episode, an almost fabled skip has been found, 'Palace Skip' but is seemingly TAS only for now and not RTA viable. @@brandommario2 There's a recent glitch called the Palace Skip which is extremely complicated, but basically allows you to clip through the floor in the Palace of Shadow. It takes place in the hallway between Riddle Tower and the room where you fight Gloomtail. There's a simple explanation in Stryder7x's video, "Top 10 Glitches in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", and he also provides a link to a more precise explanation in the description of his video, along with a timestamp for the glitch.

It does nothing. Going back with the old stars sets you into that intermission state. In the TAS, they get the first, second, and final crystal star and beat the game. There's a really good commentated TAS of TTYD on KZbin that explains a huge amount of what they use for that
