Over the past decade, there’s been a shift in the role of orthotists from focusing solely on fitting an orthosis to fitting and tuning the orthosis to provide the optimal function for the patient. Providing verbal cues for appropriate muscle activation and joint alignment can optimize gait patterns early and aid in the correction of prolonged gait deviations in long-time orthotic users. This session is a continuation of the Gait Society’s hands-on session from last year and will focus on gait training for adult and pediatric orthotic users.
