It's not manufactured in Sweden but China. It's designed in Sweden but not made there.

Shame, I was lead astray by a published article that said it was Scandinavian made

Exactly, Swedish design , made in China , misleading video , always check facts first.

Hi! Thanks for the review! Are you aware if the Sodastream bottles work in this machine?
@phils.5792 жыл бұрын
I would add to the cons that the strident sound the machine makes when it's time to release the lever is horrendous. I thought mine was malfunctioning until I checked videos showing it making the same noise.

I like how in the manual they represent it with a cute musical note. 😂

Is the included bottle made of plastic or glass? If plastic, do they have a glass replacement? If still not, are there third-party glass replacements?
@Jerram892 жыл бұрын
Plastic - I believe there are at least 3rd party glass bottles out there though.

As far as I know there are no carbonators sold in US/EU, that carbonate with an exposed glass bottle. Because a glass bottle can theoretically explode if applying too much pressure (that is what one manufacturer told me when I asked about it, basically they don't want risk getting sued). Aarke does now make a model called "Carbonator Pro" that has a glass bottle that is protected inside the machine while carbonating... Unfortunately that model is much more expensive :P

I want to point out it's quality plastic. Not like a coke bottle, or something.
@nag19722 жыл бұрын
Well... if you doesn´t like the size - you don´t buy it. My problem is that it leaks carbon when using it. So one tube per week is now normal duration for Aarke, compared to three weeks duration for a simple Sodastream-mashine.
@exactam02 ай бұрын
I noticed that when the carbonation handle of the Aarke is releleased, it instantly releases all the stored pressure. Whereas my 4 year old SodaStream Crystal 2.0 maintains most of the pressure after carbonation button is released and only slowly releases the pressure after that. Mind you, SodaStream have since changed this design at least in the DUO models, so that carbonation pressure now starts being released all throughout the carbonation process, more than doubling how much CO2 is needed per unit of water. Not good.
@exactam02 ай бұрын
Although maybe the carbonation process of the Aarke only requires the handle to be depressed once and for as long as you want? I don't have one, so I'm not a sure.

Bought a brand new one but it is not making that screeching noise - I hear that noise on all the review videos but not mine - is something wrong with it??? Why does it screech anyway??

wonder how much longer it will last compared to a plastic sodastream

Hello, I am considering this machine vs Sodastream, but I am wondering if you can use Sodastream flavors to carbonate? for example if I want to make coke or Dr. Pepper will it work the same?
@Jerram89 Жыл бұрын
You sure can, because the flavour syrup gets added after the carbonating is done.

Don't understand why they don't have glass bottles for it.
@Rimorox3 ай бұрын
It's because they would explode under pressure, the new version they make has glass bottles though the 'carbonater pro'

@@Rimorox yeah....over the years a had two sodastream crystal and in each of the two a glass bottle exploded. thats not funny, thousends of glass pieces and a very loud detonation.

Can you simply carbonate water by holding a glass to it or do you have to use the bottle? Also can you get all sorts of flavours for it like cola?
@Jerram892 жыл бұрын
You need the bottle as you need to build pressure in the sealed system to properly carbonate the water. You can also add whatever syrup you like afterwards: aarke did have their own range at one point but there are plenty of brands that make syrup to go with any carbonated water.

Jedesmal die Flasche einschrauben? Nein, da ist mir Sodastream doch lieber. Flasche einstellen und nur ein Hebel umschieben. Fertig.

Genau so ist es. So schön das Ding auch ist - Flaschen einschrauben kann’s nicht sein…
