Thank you so much for the extra time and effort to bring us along. You took a bunch of risks in things not going as well as they did, even with your Master welder/perfect sounding board and counterpart in stuff like this. You guys are a blend of Laurel & Hardy together with Orville and Wilber plus a dash or two of Penn & Teller when the magic happens. Great segment!!

Looks awesome! One thing to think about, that triangle leading edge where you are talking about hiding the hydraulic cylinder, that'll be a dirt pocket for sure, you might have to cut an opening from there to the cavity where the pipe goes through to allow any dirt that falls down the pocket to exit with the pipe. Otherwise you'll end up with the same situation you were complaining about on the Kubota of dirt compacting in the pocket at the bottom of the hydraulic cylinder causing rusting and icing issues.

Hi Guys, Interesting build I hope that the little dozer can pull that load at full depth - I also envisage that there will be an incredible vertical load when you are in heavy clay I suggest that you incorporate a practical method to release THE PIPE TUBE RIPPER SHANK from the 4 roller housing (/ or rotate the whole assembly rearwards) in the event that you Bog the dozer. I have seen CAT tractors pulling chisel plows to break up a hard pan attempt to lift out when traction is a problem in wet area - The result is the front points to the sky while the arse end of the dozer bogs down which leaves the ripper at full depth

Watchiing this come together feels like peeking into the Wright Brothers workshop as they conceptualized the first airplane. As to engineering, seems to me that the strength of parts is beyond question. The real issue will be the horsepower and traction conditions needed to shear the soil. I suppose a calculation could be made as to what HP is needed but the real test will be when it makes its first pull. Can't wait to see this.

Beautiful job, just need some vertical plates to stabilize the 1" plate, as it is. If you stick it in the ground, without, I think the plate will bend, pretty good, or bad. Also the side plates holding the plow in will need a plate across, the open side, to keep them from spreading when under load. This thing is probably built already, can't wait to see the finished product. Just my thoughts. Have a great time.

Mike, concept is coming to life. Thought you would use gear sprockets to assist with the raising and lowering of the ripper with hydraulics. Two concern about using it. (1) In Farmer Chris's fields, how wet the field going to be and will the dozer pull it with those new 30 inch treads or will it sink into the wet and muddy fields. (Idea: 2 passes, Rip it with the center ripper to loosen the dirt, then rip it with the pipe feeder) (2) How much more weight is getting added to the 850J, because your last Hoover video with the the ripper attached was flowing into the OVERSIZE category. Of course, can't wait to see it in action, hopefully not getting stuck in the mud.
