Last I checked he hit 36hr first year, 48hr second year, 35hr third year, 54hr fourth year, 35 hr 5th year, 30 hr 6th year, and 30hr 7th year before his hip basically cost him a lot of injury plagued seasons before finally hitting 33 hr for them when he was 39 years old.

Israymer Valentin-Arias the 2009 yankees weren't the 2009 Yankees until arod returned from his hip injury and hit a homer on the first pitch he saw of 2009 , Alex Rodriguez is one of the best baseball players who ever lived. I'm a die hard yankee fan but Aaron judge is wayyyy to overrated , first of all people he's a 25 year old ROOKIE that's old as fuck his body already developed so the power came easy for him not to mention that he plays in a little league stadium and broke Adam Dunn's strike out record which I thought was impossible

Imagine when Judge conquers the strike zone and takes even more walks.... The older he gets his confidence will grow and he will start getting lower pitches called a BALL.... He got shafted on plenty of his K's this past season and he took it with grace & humility and respected the Umps.... He will get more calls on those low pitches at his shins going forward..... OBP should be in the .440-.450 range next year..... MOreover the kid HAS discipline ~ HE saw more pitches than anyone in the AL last year and added that tremendous value to his team in fatiguing the opposing pitcher. I'd love to see Aaron begin focusing on putting those low strikes in play more with something less than a home run cut. He knows that low pitch is coming on certain counts and he needs to have a significant plan.
@king_supreme11027 жыл бұрын
I don't know how people can call him overrated, especially Yankee fans, he was in the running for the gold glove, is a decent base runner, he could get over 10 steals a year. Has a canon arm. And has great leadership, and he is very humble. God, I know he sucked during his slump, but what about the rest of the year? He had over a 300 average in first half. Damn, if he wouldn't have had that bad of a slump he wouldn't have come close to the strikeout record. He is a pretty complete player and he is going to be the face of baseball.
@jimtroclus7 жыл бұрын
I give him ROTY,, as for the MVP...... that awards has ALTUVE written all over it!

I respect your pick Jim, i think that the strike outs didnt help Aaron but I think that he has a close possibility of beingthe MVP because of his value to the Yankees. There is more that can be said if Altuve was not a part of the Astros they probably would still have made it to the world series. Without Aaron the Yankees were really momentum-less if that's a word, but i respect the pick. We will see soon! GO AARON

If altuve deserves it this year, then why didn’t he win an mvp yet? He’s always put up these numbers, in fact his power numbers and runs scored aren’t even his best this year.. and he lost to trout and betts last year with these same numbers.. and those guys’ numbers aren’t as great as judges this year.. so altuve doesn’t deserve to win mvp this year if he didn’t win one yet for the same numbers

I'm a big Yankees fan but they got to stop making these comparisons to Derek Jeter. Yes they may have the same demeanor, but their playstyles are nothing alike. As much as I love Derek Jeter - he's one of the best Yankee player to ever live, but Jeter should not be in the same conversation with Babe (No one will ever be in the same sentence with Babe), Gehrig and Mickey Mantle. Aaron Judge has a chance to be in the conversation with Mantle. Mantle had his 52 home run season at the age of 24, just a year younger than Judge. Then he went to hit almost 400 more home runs, despite of having injury-plagued seasons from the age of 30 until his retirement at the age of 36. If Judge can stay healthy and hit 40 home runs a season, he has a very high chance of finishing his career with 500 home runs or more, which no pure Yankee has ever done before, other than Mantle. Not only that, Aaron Judge does not want to hear that he is just like Derek Jeter. He wants to hear that he is Aaron Judge. He wants to be the great, not great-alike.

Without pitch identification, there are no adjustments mechanically that are going to help him stop chasing sliders out of the zone. If he keeps thinking they're fastballs he won't improve much in the strikeout dept. But notice how he liked talking more about Altuve than he did himself?

no kidding. I'm not really into baseball but I respect the hell out of this kid. Though Stephen A. brought up a good point about his strikeouts. Now I'm a basketball person. I look at strikeouts the way I look at free throws: There is no reason you should suck at shooting free throws when you're an NBA player, you've been playing basketball your whole life and by the time you get to the NBA you should be good enough to shoot free throws. If not, you have no reason not to practice. Well in baseball it's the same thing.by the time you get to MLB you know how the pitches look, you know the strike zone and you know how to watch the ball so you should know where that ball's going.
@camrengandee79426 жыл бұрын

That stadium and the one before it has had the same dimensions for literally almost a 100 years. Look at all the Yankee greats who have not hit that many home runs in that time and he's a righty at that. Strikeouts are overrated. People act like its the only way to get an out. He had the 3rd highest on base percentage in the league. He got on base at a higher percentage than almost everyone in the league including Altuve. That being said I think he is a guy that feasts on mediocre pitching and can't hit top tier pitching so in that regard he is kinda overrated. But you can't deny he's had an epic season.
