Nope, he's been a right wing loon for a while. I found out in the last couple of years, him and Stephen Carpenter of Deftones have hit all the right wing conspiracy talking points whenever they talk. I don't want to argue politics but spreading easily disproven conspiracies that they all repeat is really dangerous and has gotten people hurt or much worse more often than not.
