It's Paul Bley who made the ground-shifting recording of "All The Things You Are" on the album "Sonny Meets Hawk" in 1963. Pat Metheny called it "...the shot heard 'round the world." Search Ralph A. Miriello's article on Paul Bley in the Huffington Post 1/18/2016 - it's all about how Bley influenced the future of jazz piano with his solo on this tune...

Only 12,921 hits as I write. Pretty amazing ... pretty sad.

A worthy successor to Keith Jarrett, if he's interested in the job. Though I'm doubtful he is.
