@@rrsmith30 I'd start with the 42 year old. Like I said none are in the top 15 scoring, top five in assists and top two in three pointers made. Doing this while on the worst team in the league, might have something to do with turnovers. I think we should probably pull terry Bradshaw and Joe Namath from the hall of Fame because they threw more interceptions than touchdowns in their career. @@butchklumb7128Diana Taurasi is averaging virtually the same amount of ppg as Clark(Taurasi actually has a slightly higher average), virtually the same amount of rebounds per game (Clark has a slightly higher average). There is separation in Clark’s favor pertaining to assists, just as there is clear separation pertaining to Clark’s penchant for turning the ball over. The biggest separation (as is the case with all of them) is her lack of prowess as a defender. You claim age as a factor, but Taurasi is her current age while putting up offensive numbers comparable to Clark, being more secure with the ball, and a clearly better defender. Additionally, she has the experience from being on the team and playing within this system. Certainly Bradshaw and Namath are Hall of Fame quarterbacks, but if you were asking me to compare them to other quarterbacks who have comparable numbers with markedly less interceptions, I’ll take the quarterbacks who are more secure with the ball. Also, if you’re using those two examples, the reason why Namath and Bradshaw are in the Hall of Fame is because of their ability to win at the highest level in the biggest moments, which Taurasi’s proven (both in college and in the WNBA). I assure you, comparing Clark to any of the other guards leads to equally shaky (or worse) arguments.

Age might be a factor if Taurasi weren’t her current age putting up comparable numbers on offense, being more secure with the ball, & a clearly better defender. Certainly Namath & Bradshaw were Hall of Famers, but if you’re asking me to compare them to qb’s with similar numbers & less interceptions, then I’m taking the less interceptions. @jamesf28117 ай бұрын
The "not be playing a ton" argument is pointless. Throw Caitlyn Clark in for a couple of minutes, she takes up to 5 shots, hits a 3 and the crowd goes wild. Yah, there would still be backlash for those unrealistically expecting her to play more. But that backlash/distraction would be far less than leaving her off the team. And now she's probably an alternate as if that will alleviate anything. Also, this business about the Olympic basketball committee only being concerned with winning gold is completely bogus. For decades they have been talking about how important it is that the Olympic athletes be ambassadors of their sport. The only close reason to leave her off the team would be if there was someone selected that has deserved and worked hard to be selected. And that this was their final chance and selecting Caitlyn would take that person's spot. That would be a really bad move. But if such person doesn't exist on the roster, then there is no other credible reason. And then there is the how do you know? How do you know she won't burst on the scene or have some sort of relatable growth? She is a pretty good passer. I doubt her Olympic teammates will object to free layups even if she doesn't take many shots.

Why would Hurley want to coach in the NBA? He built those UConn teams on defense and moving without the ball, two things that have only happened a few times in the NBA over the last 40 years. While nobody plays defense in the NBA for the last 20 years or so, Golden State was the last team to actually move without the ball, and before that you have to go back to the Bulls with the triangle offense and then the Lakers and Celtics of the 80s.

If Caitlan Clark is as good as everyone claims she is, there will be more Olympic games in the future.

Terrible optics by Rodgers. Yet minicamp is just an extension of OTAs, which is no pads practices essentially 7 on 7 passing camp. And he was there every day of OTAs until yesterday. No one will give a s-t if he missed a few days of these type practices in mid June, if he puts up numbers most importantly wins come Sept & Oct.

If Clark was Black she would be on the roster. Let's keep it 100

If Clark were black, not only would one of the worst rated defenders in the league who also manages to turn the ball over more than any other guard on the squad without a superior offensive game to compensate for these shortcomings not have made the squad, but there wouldn’t have been an outcry over it. Many of the people claiming racial bias wouldn’t have even cared if she was black. Just keeping it 100. I also didn’t realize that Ionescu, Stewart, Plum, & Taurasi weren’t white. This is news.

If it's ok, then why is he getting fined? It's because it's MANDATORY. Show up and set a good example for your teammates. Simple. This is NOT what a great leader does, sorry.
