Thank you thank you thank you! I have had a HUGE mental block about reference photos ever since I tried the first time as a young one. It turned out SO much better that it felt like cheating, and second time I felt like a copy machine. I know intellectually that it really is not the case but the ideas a young mind gets has a tendency to stick. So to avoid feeling like a copy machine I have tried to gather as much picture inspiration and detail study as I could get into my head and then see what I could get out of it which of course can't get you as far. I have tried to learn to draw more seriously for the past 2 years but getting over that mental block has just not happened. But *now* after watching this, I can finally view this in a new more creative way and I am so sure that this new way of looking at the goal and approach will help me. Thank you!!

Great tips. This is one of the things I struggle with. My work is only as good as my reference photos. I have issues knowing how and where to change my lighting. Definitely something I need to start working on!

Using references is the part to learn his self, how somes works. Thats the important thing.
