I need my Sorkin Tv shows. He needs to have another idea. I need smart, witty, fast paced dialogue and well developed characters. No other writer compares to his genius.

He has an idea about a Tv show called Mission to Mars where it's like a grounded Nasa story. Maybe he'll pursue that.

I love the newsroom, especially how well it is written. It does not dumb down the script and the actors are absolutely brilliant. It pains me that this show is not more popular and has just 3 seasons

LET ME BE CLEAR: I do not want Sorkin to stop writing TV. That said: If it's because he's all written out or not being able to handle the pressure of television writing, which he can feel unable to handle, i can understand; but if it's for the "Internet Girls" and the toxic, cynical douches that seem to abound, don't get discouraged. Mr. Sorkin, Please remember that are many of us who respect and admire intelligence, who prefer politics, medicine and journalism to be "elite", than aren't mean and bitchy, who will respect your vision even if they don't agree with you. You can figure out where i'm going with this. "If you're not it anymore because it's too hard then 'God, Aaron! I don't even want to know you'". (Not quite but, you know what i'm saying)

And ya know, it's interesting to me that if you Google "The Newsroom", ~80% of what you'll find is incredibly negative - not just towards the show, but towards Sorkin himself. With that in mind, he seems like such a humble guy. That may be for show, but at least he has the decency to put on the show rather than puff himself up.

Oh for god sake bring back the newsroom! We need it now more than ever.
@Panwere36

The problem with "The Newsroom" was that it wasn't just attacking one "news network", but all of them. Too many only saw Fox News, when Sorkin was really writing about all of them.
@OverLordthe1st
@OverLordthe1st 8 жыл бұрын
+David Welsh yes your right, i use to hate fox news but as time went on and i saw that there a lot wrong with media as a whole, i understand now that CNN reporting is far more dangerous then fox news. Ratingings driven reporting that develops an uneducated voter base is the reason fox news exists. I wish the "newsroom" was a real show because now we need it more then ever. Just look at the current presidential race, where ever this country's going its not the right direction. If i had to choose between canceling fox news or CNN i choose CNN any day of the week, and MSNBC and all this other main stream forms of media deserve the blame to.

That's not the problem. Fox News messes up ALL THE TIME but CNN and a couple other occasionally messes up, the problem with the show was the producers of HBO :\

I really hope he starts another project. NO ONE develops characters like Aaron. It seems he had a good experience, or at least tolerable with HBO, maybe he can go that route where he has more autonomy. But I'm looking forward to the next Aaron Sorkin masterpiece. Thanks Aaron for your work.

When American TV is great, it’s truly amazing but so much is dumb downed filler IMO. Mr Sorkin has produced some of the best and challenging TV in my lifetime, which coming from the UK is saying something. The UK is fortunate enough to have the BBC and Channel 4 as conduits for original thoughtful challenging TV without the censorship of advertisers, ratings or , currently, government interference.

Sorkin basically admitting the writing sucked in the newsroom. Decent idea, poorly implemented. Also, Sorkin isn't so much a liberal as an big admirer of "Great Men" (not women, men). His have a religious reverence for "strong male leaders," and think leaders will fix the world, not the public.
