I love this song from Aaron. It wasn't a big hit, but I played it forever on the radio at 96.5 WDOD FM. I liked having exclusives that set my show apart. I met Aaron when this album was new at Lake Winnepesaukah near Chattanooga. Aaron had just returned from playing for the troops. It was Father's Day. Aaron is a really nice guy.

Funny story... I was 14-15 yrs old , my dad would play this cassette tape all the time in the truck riding around New Orleans. I would bitch and say I hate country, put on some hip hop and he say “hell no”.. here I am almost 40 yrs old and I ride around listening to Aaron Tippin. My 11 yr old son thinking the same thing Lmao. Once I became a dad and man you realize, at least for me, this is great music

I remember this song so well. when it was released I was a bartender in Houston and had just broke up with the woman that I was sure was my future, I wanted to just get away, and I heard this song and wondered just " How far it is over you".. I played this song time after time after closing time. I never left and she never came back but as painful as it was at the time I survived, now, I just love the song. It brings back memories that we created and how I made a mess of things, Old songs are very good learning tools.

I've got Aaron Tippons c.d. from years ago. 20 + years. Always, it reminds me of someone from then. This song though, it came at a perfect/fucked up time. I lost someone. Man, I just got in my car and went. For a long, long time, I think I was just gone. My family thinks they recall this time better than I do. They'd be very fucking wrong. I recall every heart breaking moment. Somethings you don't forget.

Was still heartbroken. Now, 25 years later? I've moved on, but Wayne will always be the only one. I'm 53 now, been married once. I've never forgotten my one. I'm not his one, but he once was mine.

William Duke He's got my vote. But I am less optimistic. We now have socialized healthcare and same-sex "marriage." The newer generation has been brainwashed by communist / socialist / secular-progressive teachers and Hollywood. Our nation is a dead corpse, rotten and crawling with maggots on the inside. We are a nation of degenerate, perverted idiots, 18.4 TRILLION dollars in debt. We need MEN like Washington, Revere and Jefferson to stand up and be counted, right in the face of pigs and slime like Obama and Sanders!
