I went to prison when my baby was 1 1/2 years old. When I got out she was turning 3. MY baby momma had found another man, but every night locked up I listened to all of the other guys beat their chest and say how they dont care bout nothing, I would cry myself to sleep. Praying when I could hold my baby girl again. The day I got out I went to my baby mommas house and walked in, dropped to my knees and held my arms out. I didnt know how my daughter would react not seeing me in so long. She came up to me. That day I made a promise to myself that I would never take the wrong path again. And I havent. I dont ever want to feel that low again. Being taken away from your children against your will is the lowest you can get.

You woke up and became closer to the man you were meant to be. You fell down but you got up and the world is a better place for it. I am happy for you that you have your daughter. Despite what this song says you can always go back. People may not take you back but you can always try sincerely, in fact they might be hoping and praying you will.

Better be good to your parents, or you will never forget the bad things you did and how much it hurt them. I wish i could go back now and change things, but at least when he died i knew he really loved me. Thank God for that.

Well Said, I met them twice last year in Macon Ga. The first time was At Whiskey River and I told them about my son who is now 23 that he stole my cd of them and that he lived in Oregon and I had called my son and told him he had 45 minutes to get here for the show. My son told me I wasn't funny. Lol. They then told me they would be at the Oregon Jamboree that summer. So the second time I saw them they asked me if my son had been able to make it to the Oregon Jamboree. I was impressed~! They are wonderful musicians and after the show both times they mingled with the crowd and signed their photos.

When they have country music awards, ,this is who you bring on to give people quality of country, quality of music,, to give people goose bumps.. The mavericks, a bit of Roy orbison country. Linda Ronstat ,Blue Bayou. Country doesn't change. If it don't sound country, it's something else. One band that could easily be inducted to both the country and rock hall of fame would be Marshall Tucker band."Fire on the Mountain"..Listen to that damn song and you'll feel it to the bone..The lyrics and acoustics are flawless.

I remember watching the video when it came out when I was 11 and not seeing the significance of the man in the coveralls running is his soul and the boy in the video is his memory. after hearing the song and seeing the video, it made sense why he was in the coveralls. the song is one that does make you think of the decisions you make and how it can deeply affect others

I heard this song first when it was new on the radio as a 7 year old child riding with my parents. In thinking about the woman I love and thinking of cheating on her while she is an ocean away while I serve in Korea, only the lyric "a train won't roll down a torn up track" entered my thoughts without knowing why. Somewhere deep inside this song stuck with me for 19 years to prevent me from making one of the biggest mistakes I'd have made in my life...

I know the feeling I left home during my senior year. And I knew I couldn't never go back. Even though I did made up with my father before he died. It still hurts thinking about how much I hurt him by doing that. But like people say... you can't turn back time or get back those years you missed.

Love this song, even though its a sad one. I've taken the wrong paths of life a few different times. I moved out at 23, thinking I could live a better life and not being around my parents fighting all the time. Here I sit writing this, and this song hits home. I still go back up to visit, but it hurts me every time I leave because they are all in tears. Now, I am feeling homesick and just wanting to come home.

The thing is... He wasn't just chasing his son down... He was chasing himself the entire time. That's the point. It was never really his kid he was chasing but himself, knowing better. He could never tell that "kid" don't do what you're going to do, what your parents told you not to. That's the secret to this song.

Momma helps the the best she can. There is no going back home. When I went to jail she said you got yourself in there get yourself out. But when I needed a ride she was there.
