Aaron Tveit, Caissie Levy, Tamika Lawrence perform "Let the Sunshine In" from HAIR

Acclaimed performers Aaron Tveit, Caissie Levy, Tamika Lawrence perform "Let the Sunshine In" from HAIR, in a special reunion with the 2009 Broadway revival cast, including Steel Burkhardt, Allison Case, Kaitlin Kiyan, Andrew Kober, Darius Nichols, Brandon Pearson, Paris Remillard, Maya Sharpe, and Kacie Sheik. The performance was featured in the Dramatists Guild Foundation's first virtual benefit, held on December 21, 2020. HAIR was written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and composed by Gal MacDermot.
“Write in the Dark" shined the spotlight on how, in unprecedented times like our world is facing, writers have captured cultural and societal shifts in words and song. Writers are a vital time capsule of movements, not just moments. The evening featured performances by Award-winning stars of stage and screen, including Shoshana Bean, Jordan Fisher, Joshua Henry, Khiyon Hursey, Michael R. Jackson, Sarah Jones, Nathan Lane, Tamika Lawrence, L Morgan Lee, Caissie Levy, Jim Parsons, Eliseo Romȧn, Jackie Sibblies Drury, and Aaron Tveit, along with appearances by Jason Alexander, Sara Bareilles, Kristin Chenoweth, Darren Criss, Raja Feather Kelly, Tom Kitt, Young Jean Lee, Melissa Li, Judith Light, Jane Lynch, Dominique Morisseau, Billy Porter, Heidi Schreck, Shaina Taub, Doug Wright, Kit Yan; DGF President Andrew Lippa; DGF Board Members Lin-Manuel Miranda, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Stephen Sondheim; and DGF Advisory Board Member Lynn Nottage.
All proceeds from the evening benefitted DGF’s Emergency Grants program. During the Covid-19 theatrical shutdown, DGF has distributed more than four times the financial relief to writers than they have in past years, due to the immediate and urgent need. Dramatists use this support to pay for vital life expenses, including rent, utility bills, groceries, medical expenses, and more.
“Write in the Dark” was presented by C. Graham Berwind, III, Director of Spring Point Partners. This event was produced by DGF Board Member Eleni Gianulis, with Erich Bergen and Jeremy Leiner for 6W Entertainment.

damnit . . . . this started off with so much promise with aaron. but why the hell would they keep both allison case and the other girl in when they were so off sync?! and then the person trying to belt (it take it that is tamika lawrence??) was so pitchy. and she looked like she was in pain trying to reach those notes. again . . . . damnit!

Dude, it's so insanely high even for a soprano, no wonder it's narrow. She is on pitch, though. I have listened to many versions of this song and usually the girls doing the highest part sound like this. Cassie nailed it in here though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqinpHmCi5aHg5o
