I have this one for about 1 month. It has stuff to be my favorite air pistol so far. Factory trigger was awfull!!! I modded trigger on mine, milled factory iron sight away and added compact pistol class RMR. Love it. It is perfect for short shooting session on evening, without need of CO2 cartridges and so on. And it's more precious than BB guns.

The great thing for me about this is the low power and low noise so I can shoot paper targets indoors. No CO2 capsules to buy/ dispose of unlike most other replica type air pistols which is a plus. Enjoying the challenge of learning to shoot it more accurately and doing quite well so far using RWS Hobby 7.0gr pellets.

If Umarex are able to make this version of the Ruger. They could quite easily make the artillery version of the Walther P08 Luger with the longer barrel.

I bought one a few months ago . It's brilliant for backyard/ garden plinking as it's ultra quiet. The trigger is on the heavy side but who cares when you consider how cheap it was . Very well made and a faithful reproduction of the real gun. In fact if I could I would buy the real one just based on the looks of this air pistol! Comes with a smart box too! Cheers.

I have both the Ruger (silver) & the Browning Buckmark. Pleasantly surprised by both especially for the price. Whilst the Browning seems smoother to shoot the Ruger is more aesthetically pleasing. Both are accurate however the Rugers trigger needs some work, really heavy. For target work out to 10m or plinking can’t fault the little springers, environmentally friendly too (no co2….) 👍- thanks for a great review AAR team.

Typically you cant go wrong with anything that Ruger puts out. Thanks again Andy. I'd really love to see you come up with some type of talk show(or something similar)discussing airguns. You can get CO2 powered version of the same Ruger MKII, full size removable mag with 20ish shots (heel release like the RS) semi auto (obviously), full metal upper and much of the lower eg: mag, mag release, safety, trigger, back plate, pins and fastners (no ugly screws). It has a real world take down operation that is exclusive to this Ruger (as far as I know) that is really interesting and fun to play with as a mechanic, it's airsoft (haters can shoot 6mm ball bearings or aluminium ones instead of plastic as it's CO2!) and goes for around £50. Highly recommended, I've owned one for a few years, no blow back but that just means more power! Has a fibreoptic front sight too, green rather than red.

I have had two of these. The trigger creeps before breaking in the second stage. The first pistol had a trigger pull of 11 lbs the second pistol had a pull of 8 lbs. A trigger tune on the 11 lbs version brought it down to 7 lbs...still terrible but manageable. That being said it is a fun gun to shoot.

A piece of escrement. Bought one and at 7yds with 7.0 grain pellets the drop almost 10 inches. Tried a heavy (weight unknown) maybe 12 grain and could see it fly and go about 2ft low. Cant believe theyd less it as a working gun and not as a "wallhanger). Maybe as a 10 footer maybe 12 footer but find the absolute lightest pellet you can. Love that its a break barrel tho. Got one of these after watching this. Very good for the price point. As you might imagine there are a few issues with it: - no mounting options for optics. (this pistol would be really nice with a red dot) - the first stage of the trigger is quite nice but the second stage is VERY heavy. - Took a while to zero the iron sights although I think that was more on me than the gun.
@Beesa10 Жыл бұрын
I bought this air pistol as a bit of fun and for the price it's pretty good. My main issue is the trigger weight, it takes a lot of force to release it which causes me to tend to pull shots over to the left. However, I am enjoying the fact it's not too powerful so it's fairly quiet and I can shoot the thing indoors (responsibly of course).

@@darkstar453 Just watched a video on the Pellets and Pistons airgun channel showing a trigger improvement job on the Umarex Ruger Mark IV. Not sure I'll ever get as far as taking it apart to polish small trigger parts, interesting to see it can be done though. I will shoot a couple of tins of Hobby pellets through it and see how it breaks in/ smooth's out, will more than likely just consider the heavy trigger pull part of the challenge when shooting empty beer cans etc

I think the recently reviewed Webley Typhoon is the better buy. I dare say the Webley's trigger is heavier, but is the more capable of the two. At less than 2ftlbs this really is a 6 yard job, plus with low power comes more chance of less deformation of the pellet and more chance of rebounds. Cheap as though it is, this could be a better, albeit more expensive pistol if they had gone down the CO2 target route in the essence of the real thing. I worry about some of the cheaper stuff in that it may get folk into the sport, but the limitations of the cheap stuff may well put folk off. Sometimes, if the budget is low the best option is to go the secondhand route.

I think you don’t have as bad of eyesight as you think. The target is always fuzzy looking if you focus on the front sight. That is what it should look like, I like this model a lot, I have used one that shoots 22 Long Rifles for years this one is likely lighter in weight than the cartridge version. I believe that most aftermarket grips might fit this model if you wanted to try using them. As for the trigger pull weight, being a little heavy is good for practice shooting. It improves trigger control with use. Having an auto safety is good for practice too. It would be better if they offered 22-pellet model too. Likely it is very accurate, the question is how it will last over time. Iron sights are a good thing to learn to use and shooting pistols well requires lots of practice. You learn the most from shooting one shot at a time. Rather than blazing away like to many people tend to do too much of the time. Once you step away from the bench and see what your real results are that is when you learn the most. 🙂
