Jane is toxic And I applaud Nick for keeping his distance. However, he seemed he always kept his relationship with Aaron separately until the recent years when he had to distant all together. It’s sad cuz now you see Nick struggling over Aarons death because severe addiction and mental health took over. It’s a beast. No see this is what happens truly. A mother with unchecked mental illness raising children. 50% of Aaron's issues were solely environmental. Absolutely fixable in therapy. He is not just like her, he's acting just like her. He never did end up getting to be his true self in this life and breaking the hardwired manipulative behaviors she trained him with. But make no mistake she did train him to be that way. He wasn't just naturally like that. The only restraining order Aaron needed was from his own mother sadly. I know because I've had to do this myself. In my teen years and early 20s I thought acting like my mom was normal, I didn't realize I was doing something abusive or toxic. When I realized everything at 25 I had a real mental breakdown and ended up in a hospital for 2 weeks. Where my "mom" promptly went to all my doctors and assured them my only issue was that I was drug addict. So that nobody would listen to the real truth of the extreme emotional abuse I grew up with. Physical abuse as well. She got me deemed borderline personality which I'm not and that diagnosis has been long removed thank God, all in an attempt to make sure that if I told the dark truth about her family nobody would listen to me. It has worked with everyone in her family sadly so I have no family. But that's much better than having a family like that. It's sad what Jane Carter was allowed to do to her family. Absolutely sad. Though in his 30s Aaron had a responsibility to do right and get help. Just like I had that responsibility the second I saw the truth. I just wonder if he ever did see it or not. Sorry for oversharing I didn't know how to explain without doing so.
