I absolutely love Mancera Red Tobacco but its everything but inoffensive and easy to wear at professional settings. Its an absolute beast regarding projection and longevity. The opening is harsh and long and its extremely easy to overspray. Would recommend anyone using this to a formal work setting to spray atleast two hours before entering an office.

I was going to say exactly this... Mancera is usualy beast mode, which is not always seen as office friendly. Maybe Aoud lemon mint would fit here.

Just to say, Aaron's Carbon is brilliant. I've started using it with every fragrance that doesn't last the working day - and that's why it fits so well with this list. I have Aaron's Animalix as well, but I like Carbon more. By quite a way too. It works, 9-5. I might smash through my 50ml pretty quick 😘👌 From this list, Reflection is my favourite, beautiful top notes especially 😍

Ive been looking. Does it change the profile of the original fragrance much?
@armageddonplace Жыл бұрын
@@richplant2205 hi, it really doesn't affect it much - but it does change it slightly. It's like giving your fragrance a bigger stage to play on. Carbon by itself is lovely, musky and woody - these are the elements that still come through the layered scent, but in a really lovely neutral way. A 10ml will be worth trying (when it's restocked!), it'll last a fair while too.

I must admit the original polo green was absolutely beautiful as a classy professional persons scent, its not the same anymore, the drydown of the original product was sublime.
@mdsparks19732 жыл бұрын
Ralph Lauren Polo green was the first cologne I purchased with my own money back in 1986 at 13 years old. I worked my ass off for a solid year to save up the money for it. I got halfway thru that bottle by the end of 9th grade. The last day I wore it was sometime in March 1989, and had it stored away on the inside pocket of my brown leather jacket. I forgot it was there and slung my jacket off to hang on the back of my chair in Algebra class, when I heard the soul cringing sound of glass shattering behind me, and I instantly knew what it was. I'm sure that classroom STILL smells like Polo to this day because it was 🔥🐲. Two sprays for the day is all you needed. I so badly wanted another bottle, but I knew it would take at least another year to save up the money. So, I bought a bottle of Cool Water and wore that one out. Then I went through bottles of Eternity, CK ONE, Obsession, Tommy Hilfiger, and years of all the new release headache inducing frags. Five years ago I decided to go back to basics and get a new bottle of Polo green. To my dismay, I learned first hand what a reformulation was. I smelled a pungent, charred aroma that was repugnant to the point of uncontrollable convulsive gagging. I brought the new bottle back to Macy's, and of course they wouldn't take it back because it was used. So I threw the brands new $100 bottle in the trash. Then, one day about two years ago, while scrolling through Mercari, I saw a bottle of "VINTAGE RALPH LAUREN POLO GREEN - COSMAIR". I remembered "COSMAIR" from the bottom of the 80's bottle and bought this 1oz splash bottle for $30. When I got it, I immediately doused my hands with it and commenced to bath. The aroma circulated throughout the house within minutes, and when it hit the wife's olfactory glands, she knew what it was immediately and exclaimed, "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE WEARING POLO!! I HAVEN'T SMELLED THAT IN DECADES! I LOVE IT!" It was absolutely FANTASTIC. I jumped in my truck and choked myself on the fumes emitting from the gorgeous "new" fragrance that now consumed the interior of my truck, and I rolled the windows down so the rest of the world could enjoy it with me. I walked into the gas station thinking everyone would appreciate this aroma that I bestowed upon their olfactory sensory glands free of charge, and after standing in line for a minute, the two older ladies in front of me asked who was wearing Polo, and going on about how nostalgic this scent was. The other younger people behind me also embraced it, not knowing what this "new" cologne was. When I told them it was vintage Polo green, they asked where they could get it because it was nothing they had ever smelled before and had to get some. I told them Mercari and they immediately jumped on it and both purchased a bottle each, which were the last two for sale on the site. After a couple of weeks of wearing, I realized I was going through this 1oz bottle a lot faster than expected. I got back on Mercari and found a 4.4oz Cosmair spray bottle, and snatched it up. Well, that wasn't enough so I found a few more bottles and purchased them. Wearing this classic cologne again has not only brought back fond memories for me and my peers (40's-60's), but has introduced its ionic style and class to a new generation who missed out on the days when designer frags actually performed as niche frags do today.

the original version in the 90s was absolutely beast mode you could smell it for days on clothes. Due to regulations etc they have reformulated it many times. I'd say its prob 50% to 60% strength of the OG 90s version. Still one of my fav all-time scents.

Can we get a video about your Carbon? How it works, what it works with and how it impacts the smell? A sort of an expert user's guide? Really interested in carbon,, I have a few fragrances that smell good but dont last on me. nishane wulong Cha is one,,, i love it for the hot weather and it is reported to be a beast performance but not on me... I have 3 other Nishane and they certainly do last... So does carbon change the fragrance a lot scent wise?
