Even if he isn't as harsh wether that be projecting what he likes/dislikes, getting strong armed by a larger company, and maybe last but not least when he's entered a larger arena with his perfumes he saw the effort to put a scent out and calmed down a bit on harsh feedback...even after all that, his reviews are still second to none in a sense of a breakdown of formulation but also how this all blends together to create a final product. No other reviewer does this at this level.

One of the most beautiful scents that I’ve ever smelled. This is now my top favorite to buy this winter. I usually don’t go for frags that are over 300€ but for this one I will make an exception. I’m 25 and I feel like this could be my signature for the night, going out, “classy bad guy” fragrance

Oh baby, Amouage is kinda ruin my perfume experience since I’ve smelled them. The fragrances are so good so they setting the bar really high, so it’s really hard to find something that is on the same level. I think I have to buy royal tobacco too, rip my wallet 😂.

I love Aaron. His voice and movements coupled with his spoken knowledge about perfumery are intoxicating. He keeps you engaged and craving more. Love every one of his fragrances except Legend, it’s not great on my skin for some reason.

Very sophisticated scent, I remember the sample smelling sweet but then the bottle just ended up smelling super dark.

I think after this review I bought a sample of this fragrance, it’s wearable but not something I love. I don’t think this is the pinnacle of tobacco scents. It’s a rough and aggressive scent. Everyone at my job had the same feeling about it.

I have this one. A few weeks ago I tried a sample. Absolutely gorgeous. It can have a slight curry note but on my skin it's more Pine, Earthy, Licorice, Birch Tar,.. No vanilla ,Musk, Tonka Bean or Benzoin. It almost has a slight Anise note. I did not notice too much Tobacco or Guiacwood. Reminds me of walking in G Boys with Christmas trees with Incense Spicier than Memo Paris Russian Leather. That's pine too.

Royal tobacco uses tobacco absolute which a lot don’t . This makes it a much more authentic tobacco fragrance than a lot of others

I really respect this fragrance. I had a sample, it's thus far the strongest tobacco fragrance I tried. However, it isn't full bottle purchase for me. It's so strong, I'm not even sure what occasion this would go for. ATH, nailed it when he said this is a very serious tobacco fragrance. More for a senior gentleman IMO.

Hi Aaron, did you pick up any maple lactone in this? This is compared to Clive Christian Oriental Gourmand. I love maple lacton because if its radiance. Unfortunately, the nearest store Amouage store in Bangkok doesnt carry it. In any case, I really appreciate your integrity--it is clear that you were giving your true opinion. Never change that about yourself.

regards to sending bottles to reviewers: they might say okay, when you tell them you won't lie about the fragrance if it's not good or anything, but just they just stop sending free stuff withour a word... ROJA, Creed does this, and the majority of the big brands too, for sure

Not sorry to say, but I've tried a lot of tobacco scents and THIS is the apex of tobacco scents - in its category. Cecile Zarokian can make perfumes like no other. This one is no exception, complex, dark and intriguing, there is nothing simple about it and it's POWERFUL, it makes one hell of a statement, it's not shy at all and it last...well...forever, don't ever spray this on your clothes, no detergent can remove it 🤣 If you like a splendid ashy, dark, heavily spicy and "incensy" tobacco, Royal Tobacco is completely unapologetic and it is for you. If you want something else, there are plenty of other choices out there but this is not in the same "pot" with the others, let's agree to disagree.

I get a big reference to Oud For Greatness and (to a lesser extent) BR540 in this: Evernyl / Ethyl Maltol in high doses, Ambrox and Amberwood base pushing and Hedione brightening the composition. Not much tobacco or tobacco-like materials to my nose and the herbal / licorice part is a bit too wierd for my taste, much prefer Journey Man for a 'tobacco' Amouage

Aaron - there is one perfume where I smell something completely different depending on the day. I can smell Creed Aventus right out of the bottle and it has two distinct and different smells on different days. The clones are the same, but not happening with any other fragrance. Opus XIV is a superb perfume. In my humble opinion the only worthy Amouage perfume release under Salmon… It’s really got that grand auld patine, but yet it’s still something different. I wish more of perfume made under him were like that.

Even after Chong left ,Amouage didn't lower the quality but it moved in a different directio..Experimenting with freshness still keeping the middle Eastern vibe but making it more western and maybe less in your face and more predictable.For me the last 4 fragrances launch, "the Odyssey" i was pleasantly surprised.

Nah you gotta try the latest Opus release. King Blue is absolutely amazing and the next hit under Salmon imo. Wasn't a fan of the Odyssey collection at all, but, King Blue is a proper Amouage release.
