I would love to smell this on a man! I think florals (especially rose, iris and tuberose) and gourmands smell incredible on men. I wear lots of "men's" fragrances, life is too short to not wear whatever you love 💕

I love this fragrance, and for me, is 100% unisex, as I don't see any reason as for why men shouldn't wear floral fragrances, and to my nose, this just smells like a beautiful garden after a heavy rain. Actually, I bought this as a present for my mother, and even though she liked it, she told me that it's "too masculine" for her to wear, which I found interesting, but I did gave her Cruz del sur II from my collection and kept carnal flower for me, and I love to wear it! Especially in the summer, I'm 100% that men can pull this off, as with any fragrance that just smell utterly natural, no bubble gum or makeup smell for this (only smells I'll associate as 100% feminine). But I agree that the name it's not a good fit, I don't get anything "carnal" about this fragrance, just art.

I really love your reviews. It's so great to have an actual perfumer to review fragrances who can give a detailed breakdown of the composition and ingredients - I find this so refreshing and intriguing. Ha. I’m male and I wear it. Love it. There are men who love it and wear it. Not all men can pull it off. You have to have the confidence, and have the right personality. And yes, Frederic Malle is French. Also, if you like it now, you would have liked it better say, nine years ago. Why? Because the formula changed because of ridiculous E.U. imposed rules. To me it doesn’t smell as good as it did back circa 2011.

Dominique Ropion said in an interview that the tuberose is the centerpiece of the fragrance and was inspired by "Fracas" made by Robert Piguet. Ropion also spent more than 2 years to perfect the formula for this perfume.

I've only tried "the Night". It took me some bravery to go for that level of animalic. However, after 35-45 minutes, it turned into pure art. I fell in love with its heart. Frederic Malle uses top caliber perfumers for each fragrance.

First niche scent I put my nose on.. Even though it is feminine I had to have it even at $300 at the time 8 years ago... I Prefer Musc Ravageur from Frédéric Malle.. Sometimes I just want to smell the scent at home (carnal flower)

I think that was a misstep in comparing anyone who likes rap music to a scent being preferable for them. Although I understand where you were going with it in the range of your analogy but I have to definitely question the overal relevancy of it. For one reason in particular, I listen to rap music and I'm a professional person and I'm highly into being choosey when it comes to perfumery.

Another one is Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain (I’d bathe in this stuff if I could). Same pursuit. Looking for a scent that’s like it. In my opinion Nasomatto Narcotic V. smells more realistic. In fact, the Nasomatto Narcotic V is the most realistic tuberose I've ever smelt, compared to Le Labo Lys 31 Frederic Malle Carnal Flower. But Carnal Flower is stunning nonetheless.
