DID THIS DESTROY THE ENGINE? Mitsubishi Evo 5 Rebuild Starts

So final teardown of the Mitsubishi lancer evolution 5 4g63 engine for rebuilding results in some interesting finds.. the twin plate Exedy clutch/flywheel setup was fitted incorrectly causing vibration. New 4g64 2.4 crankshaft and race bearings are being used along with Cp Carrillo pistons and manley I beam connecting rods

Who ever owns the c20 head should do the mi16 conversion now. Perfect opertunity. Puts intake to the front and give you big valve head at the same time. C20xe head is a almost identical copy of the mi16 only with the ports and calves being smaller.

That's what I fought that you can still get new 4g64 (100mm) cranks from mitsubishi,why someone reground one I'd never know,surely it's cheaper to buyer a new one anyway lol... Good work Aaron..

Hi Aaron - please explain to me why you are not using turbo diesel pistons and connection rods - diesels had much higher compression so these parts should be great for these hitech but still lower combustion engines or am I missing a point here? 🙄

Bit off topic aaron but which oil do you run in a fresh fully forged zlet will be around 300bhp once mapped n later on high 400s i did have a 477bhp one before and used gm semi synthetic but just wanted ur opinion

This will depend on what oil clearances were given to the bearings when it was forged
