In Bangladesh people don't consider 14 carat to be pure gold, and not very valuable. So the gold jewelleries in the markets starts from 18 carat. 21/22 carat gold is more available here, which is also very expensive. I wish we had these 14 carat cute pieces here.
@sms15112 жыл бұрын
Same as in my African country, I was so shocked when I saw people buying 14 and 18k considering it luxury gold. But to be honest I prefer the 20carat and above even though I bought one or two 18 carat peices. The higher carat ones are truly an investment that you can pass on.

Being south asian we only ever purchase 22k gold. I do think 14k-18k jewellery is more everyday wearable but I find that western countries overprice even 18k plated gold to such a ridiculous amount that it makes no sense to think such gold should be considered an investment at 14k-18k gold or 18k plated gold. It is 22k where the real value and investment is.

I think if you buy real Gold you should also consider the shade of gold you like. Personally, even though they are more pure, when it comes to yellow gold I don’t like 18 to 24 karats. It’s too yellow and ironically fake looking lol. White gold and platinum are also good to consider if you want to upgrade from silver.

I love your collection!! I also wanted to let you know that the Argento Vivo pieces are always sterling silver underneath the gold, meaning it's probably not "tarnishing" but the silver underneath is actually oxidizing. When silver oxidizes, you can just use a silver polishing cloth and it'll go back to looking good as new!! The gold plating over time might wear off, but the sterling silver underneath is still a precious, long-lasting metal. I hope that helps - gold plating and gold vermeil nowadays are so popular, and I get sad when I see people thinking the pieces are "turning" and throw them away when they actually just need a nice clean.

I agree that if possible purchasing real gold is ideal. I’ll even up the ante by saying that you want to purchase 18k gold. It’s 75% gold, whereas 14k gold is less than 60% gold. The best carat is 24k but it’s much less durable because it’s over 90% gold.
@blessyourheart1752 жыл бұрын
24k gold is pure gold 100%. Gold has 24 parts therefore 24 of 24 is 100%. It’s extremely rare to find 24k jewelry because gold is an extremely soft metal.

100% agree with buying real solid gold, especially 18 to 22K gold pieces. Such a good investment (gold prices almost always increase) and its so durable for long term use. I personally think that 10K-14K may be less durable since it only has about 40-60% of gold. Have you ever thought about investing in 21K gold?
@Kimmie95532 жыл бұрын
Gold is a soft metal though, so more of it means more likely to bend, scratch, and break. I personally don’t like 18k+ because of the color, but I’d only ever buy 18k for occasional pieces and 9-14k for daily pieces! I do actually prefer 9/10k for daily wear rings because they are the strongest and least likely to be damaged or show wear
@alizehjamal97302 жыл бұрын
@@Kimmie9553 yeah I do like the colour of 18k but 21k isnt actually that soft, despite what some may think. I have many 21k-22k pieces and you’d actually be surprised how durable and well they stay in shape! 😊

I am allergic to every metal that is not solid 14 carat gold. I have invested in some new pieces. The main brands i love are italian brands. Ponte venchio and pesavento. They have cute jewelry that has a chain a hanger and it that hanger the diamond moves.i bought a pair of earrings from pesavento. There was something wrong with the posts. One was 2 mm thicker then the other. So they are gone to Italy. I hope i get one new pair back. I love them so much. They were half hoops with crushed diamonddust. The crumbles of the diamond and i bought ring from that brand also a big band with on top crushed diamonds real crushed diamonds. They were 18 carat gold the neckles, the ring and the earrings. I cant explain this really how it looks like. Maby you can find the images on google. Yes invested in them a lot but i am happy because i wear it every single day. It makes my outfit more interesting. I also have two bracelets i got them from my dad years ago. I also handed a old neckless to my daughter. She is 4 also real gold. She wears this every single day. It is expensive but you can wear it years and years. So my daughter can wear it when she gets older and enjoy those pieces as i do now.
