First Tamil picture watch in theater. Beautiful picture and strange experience. It was 1973 or 1974 not so sure but on a Thaipusam day. Many people were on trance in the midst of the movie. What a picture! Can a movie make people go on trance ?

I'm an ardent devotee of Adishakti as well..But there are about 2 scenes here that I would like to correct. First would be the scene as though Shiva and Vishnu were fighting their spouses with arrogance. That didn't happen. They both had unconditional love and respect towards their wives. Next would be the Mahishasura scene. In reality, Shakti took the form of Durga to kill Mahishasura and Chandi didn't have to suck in Mahishasura's blood. Mahishasura is not Rakthabeej. Apart from that, it's still an iconic film❤️

The timeline of the story is incorrect... director fail to realise that Rous Peter (Peter Pandian) was a collector in 1812, where else Subramania Iyer (Abirami Pattar) events and existence took place somewhere between 1650s to 1750s. How can he narrate a story to Serfoji about Rouse Peter about an event that will happen in the future?? Similarly in SPM's Raghavendra movie (Rajnikanth) someone playing fiddle as a pakka vadyam on the stage? (Swamy Raghavendra Teertha timeline was between 1595 to 1675, and fiddle was introduced in Carnatic kutcheries by either Vadivelu Pillai of 1830s or Muthuswamy Deekshitar's younger brother Balaswamy Dheekshitar of 1785 to 1860) Timeline (approximately): Madurai Nayaka - 1530 to 1740 Tirumalai Nayaka - 1620 to 1660 Kumaragurupara Desikar - 1600s Tanjavur Maratha - 1595 to 1855 Sarabhoji I Bhonsle - 1675 to 1730 Abirami Pattar - 1600s East India Company - 1755 to 1890 British Raj - 1890 to 1947 Rouse Peter - 1812 (served as 3rd collector of Madurai)
