I'll watch inferno guides every now and then but your guides are easily the most comprehensive and easy to understand. I trick myself every time into thinking I could maybe do it one day...until I see 3 jads. No way in hell I'll be able to do that.
@aatykon Жыл бұрын
Jads become miles easier mentally when you take a look at the required apm. In total its 1 attack per 3 ticks, an action every 1.8 seconds for a total of of 33 apm. High apm games even at a casual level easily hit over 50apm, and so in terms of stress/concentration, yes it's hard and you can't afford to make those mistakes much, but it's also very easy with a little practice, and only looks hard right now. Don't be afraid to fail at stuff either! Failing can be a great teacher and a great source of motivation every time you chip away at a seemingly impossible task. Building the self confidence that you can improve and will improve as long as you dedicate time to trying and learning opens up many games at a higher and often more enjoyable level.
@darbs1832 Жыл бұрын
@@aatykon My initial reluctance from attempting the inferno came from the notion that you HAVE to flick to be able to do it. I'm not the smartest when it comes to understanding the tick system in osrs admittedly. Knowing that it's doable without flicking is extremely reassuring -- I just wish there was a way to practice triple jads without having to spend 1.5 hours getting there.
@aatykon Жыл бұрын
@@darbs1832 duo jads is practicable from the tzharr throne dude guy person, and triples isnt much of a step up - and after all it is just practice, if you die at jads you get to practice and improve at the waves.

Ring if the Gods and Devout Boots are not first cape gear items. Ring of Suffering and Pegs make up roughly 12% extra range defense and 40% more magic defense. If you die before running out of restores, then it didn’t matter that you had prayer bonus gear. Only main critique of this series. Prayer bonus gear is for speed running.
@aatykon Жыл бұрын
the series also focuses on practical solve solutions and how to mitigate or control 99% of wave damage - thus also mitigating the use of heavy defence gear. granted, first capers will make more mistakes and could benefit from tank gear - but my approach to learning content is to do exactly that - learn. tanking or increasing tank stats vs npcs doesnt teach you how to solve the content or improve at it, it just slightly increases the likelyhood of surviving a 1v1 or 1v2 that gets rolled every wave. I understand the argument about "if you survive you'll learn more", but at the end of the day teaching players to use yellow potion and dps is an entirely sufficient and simple solution that works 99% of the time. More prayer bonus = more brews/less time milking specs or trying to conserve/faster time to cape. (assuming players are making an attempt to learn these practical solutions).

First cape attempter here. The trick to safe spot the melee dig using the mager/ranger as the pillar saved my life 3 times in my last run! I've seen Zuk once but had zero supplies. I've been planking on triple jad; I continually miss a prayer switch when the first set of healers spawn. Is it possible as a first caper to ignore the first set of healers on triple jad and just out DPS them w/ BP or Bowfa?

just thought the one at 1:12:43 might be a little difficult for first capers, to off-tick things when on a timer, it is very intimidating. I would have went on the east side of pillar, prayed range and killed the melee to avoid too much complicating. It is all just personal preference, and i found not complicating stuff by too much off-ticking was comfortable. Off-ticking is necessary to learn at some point though, so it is good practice :)
@1tubax2 ай бұрын
That is true. It's indeed a better solve but as aaty said the earlier you try and learn offticks, the easier your future attempts will be, and the better you will get at the game. Don't just go at the inferno with a "one and done" mentality.

while in some specific cases the items may be not be negative to bring, it's not convincing to have a sample size of 1 cape and state confidence in the methods used, from seeing literally thousands of first cape runs i can definitively say eldritch does not benefit any first caper assuming they're using devout boots and suffering or rotg - and if they're not using those then put simply their gearing choice is misinformed or bad (or an ironman who somehow has eldritch)

its just timing/practice! keep it up can always go to wave 4 (single blob) or single ranger wave and practice 1 tick alternating to get a really good grasp of the timing find a moment in one of the videos where i 1 tick for a long period and get a feel of it, and if in doubt record your own runs and clip the deaths to send to people to ask about how you died/what you can do better

If you two tick pray switch, would you get hit by the blob/mage blob/ranger?
@MaTrIXBaws6 ай бұрын
You can, but you need to make sure the attack by the non blob is the “start” of your 2t alternate. If you go from pillar to a blob/mage you pray mage on t1 and t2, range on t3 and t4. The mage and range are on 4t attack cycles. You can always “fix” it by holding mage or range until the tick they attack and then beginning a 4t cycle from there, tanking a blob hit at worst

Pls rate my solve for 47:10: Go to the north side of pillar, flicking Blob without killing it, until Meleer digs. This should pull the Mager in to the south edge of the pillar. When Meleer digs, Mage pray and go to center tile of west edge of pillar. Kill Mager whilst controlling Meleer, then kill Meleer. This just leaves Blob + Nibblers.
@aatykon Жыл бұрын
good solution, works fine! there's always a few methods that work well, and there's rarely a perfect answer for first capes. best solution would be to go north and pull the mager closer, and return to the west side before the melee digs, get control while attacking mager, skipping the need to let it dig at all!
