Promptly continued, awesome. I may have gone straight out and got the game for myself (key apparently takes 3 days tho), cause 85 bucks seems like a steal for this. All joking aside, it really does deserve more support, and I'm happy to see more of it. So little coverage out there, it's a shame...

30:20 "Regrowing trees? Neat idea, but the time scale ruins it." In this game, where it takes a truck half a week to drive to the local mine, tree growth could actually be significant. Some grow in a few decades. 43:30 29 unity (they just HAD to put the name of the engine everywhere...) BTW, is there a law that every Unity game has to look as grey, brown, and generally drab as technically possible? Sure, a colorful, cute style like in Satisfactory and Astroneer wouldn't fit the setting, but really, Unity games are usually the worst in this regard.

I'm really glad you enjoy them, wish the game had some background sound I could use; but if this becomes a series and I continue to use B roll for transitions, I'll look for some suitable music by Kevin Macleod to fill the gaps :)

The continuation of the first taste came fast. Very nice to see. The science progression in this seems quite fast to unlock, but much slower to make use of. Hopefully that will be balanced of in the future. I'm kinda surprised by how well the trucks do their jobs without micromanagement. I'm quite interested to see how the colony progresses with better tech and more need for resources. Great episode as always Aavak.

One more vote for more episodes here. Looks interesting. Wood being a 'too long' production, man they got to get some bamboo going. Sustainably growing trees can be completely reasonable, but you really need to plan ahead. Christmas tree farms that want to sell 10 year old trees every year have 10 full plots of trees and each year they harvest and replant the "ripe" plot... so there's always a full plot of 9y, 8y, 7y, 6y, 5y, etc trees on the go. If, on the other hand, you're going to require oak beams from 100y old trees every 100 years, best to get those on the go now.

I like that they got the ore colours right, a lot of games don't. Ores tend to be the colours of the oxides, not the pure metals they contain. Hence why copper ore is blue/green, not copper coloured, and Iron ore is rust coloured.

You can keep researching without the tier two research labs, they just research faster. And yes, I would very much like to see more
@Aavak3 жыл бұрын
Some tech specifically says 'reasearch lab ii required' so I assumed it was necessary; that said, it very clearly says excavators can't go under transports, but I've seen them do it both under pipes /and/ transport belts now so perhaps some things have been tweaked but the tool tips are still referencing the old behaviour.
@aajjww1213 жыл бұрын
@@Aavak Near as I can tell, that only references the actual Research Lab II tech as having to be researched, not the buildings themselves.

Great Video mate, it's a really good game by the looks of it, it would have been nice if you could build roads for the trucks to drive on, and you need to get a fuel truck running to your mine site so your do not losing downtime while you wait for the excavator to go get fuel and come back again, I would love to play it some time but due to having a tight budget I will have to wait till march to play it, thanks again for sharing it with everyone. 27:35 Yesterday I watched another person playing, and he also ran 2 Research Labs. It seems to me that it might be more sensible, while also requiring less effort, to build one Lab to run constantly, instead of 2 Labs that you constantly switch on and off.

So far as I've played, there's steam generators, which can be set up to use the steam necessary for other processes (so not being made specifically for power generation) which is a bit greener, though the boilers still use coal to create the steam. Beyond that, there is green power tech much later in the tree, once you get to the point of unlocking electronics etc, such as Solar, but I've not played that far personally.
