Many of you have been asking why she hasn’t been sued by the Q family for using the music or why did the family give her permission and the answer is they had no idea about the album until the first single was already released. The record label owns their music and can give permission to and release dozens of albums without telling the family. The Q family has to even ask the label for permission to use their music and pay to use it. Selena not only had a gift, not only did she have the natural charisma of a seasoned performer, and not only did she hone her craft since she was a little girl - and with her family, no less - but she was influenced by the greats in their prime (Janet Jackson, Madonna, Paula Abdul, Donna Summer, Glória Estefan).
