Most parents don't have a time on their hands for this level of data collection of every trial. I trimmed it down to a percentage for each program to show the consultant who came very week. She loved it as it was short and concise and very readable.

Thanks man for clarifying and giving an example on whole-interval recording and partial-interval recording. I wasn't sure I understood it right from my textbook and in fact I didn't, but thanks to your clear explanation I do now.

Nice video! I might have missed it, but did you mention momentary time sampling? Not as accurate, but definitely helpful if observing multiple subjects at the same time. Keep up the good work!

My advice to anyone who is thinking about working in ABA with children and teenagers is that all the courses, certifications, supervisions, videos, like this one, and anything else that a person can learn about ABA is absolutely pointless if you don't like working with children. WARNING: this job is extremely stressful, dificult, boring and not rewarding at all if you don't have the nurturing instinct needed to care for others. I've seen too many cases where candidates takes their time thru all of this training to realize that they indeed encountered what I mentioned above. If you don't like working with children you will have a bad experience and will make the behavior of your clients worst. On the other hand, if you like working with young minds and you have what it takes to make them smile and have a good time, ABA is the best job you will ever experience.

What if someone likes working with older kids (middle school age) and young adults, but not young children? Is there any hope?

Yes, there is a world of opportunity for ABA, you can work with the elderly, gerontology etc

@@estherbednar3260 there is hope! But most therapists don’t get the opportunity to pick their clients. You’re paired by experience But I expressed an interest in early intervention and with my promotion I’m now servicing younger clients (my personal preference) but good luck on your ABA journey !

Question. Permanent product can be confusing . If the behavior is cleaning shoes. The child goes home. The RBT counts how many shoes are clean. Is this frequency or permanent product. Please help
@ABAmadeeasy
@ABAmadeeasy 3 жыл бұрын
Permanent product because you didn't have to observe the child engaging in the behavior directly.

Behavior is not evidence. Everybody has different behaviors. The neurotypical population has determined what is "normal". Not everybody is going to fit into that.
