One of the main deficits that children with autism (ASD) have is their limitations in language and communication skills. For example, they may have a few words of comprehensible speech, while others may be able to speak in full sentences but not reciprocate in a natural conversation. 💬 When their parents or peers find it difficult to understand and converse with them, this may pose a challenge for them at home and in school. 🏡🏫
In our previous video, we taught Jasper, a 4-year-old boy, how to describe long and structured sentences he would use in his typical conversations. Using the same "Functional Describing" program, we worked on his disjointed sentences by introducing conjunctions such as "and", "when", "because" and "but".
Watch this video to learn how he becomes more fluent in delivering longer sentences, and improving his communication skills. 🗣️
