WoW what an amazing castle. My favorite part was the magnificent Church. The amazing doors, the beautiful ceiling. What a beauty. I was actually surprised when you walked over the black and white photo of the man and didn't pick it up (at that time, perhaps later). Because you always are so very respectful of the places you explore. I'm curious do you guys ever close the windows and/or outside doors left opened to slow down moisture and the decaying process? Just wondering? I've noticed many explorers do not. Thank you both for the great job at exploring!!!! You're definitely two of the best!! P€a¢€~n~£0v€ ✌🏻

There are several things that really bother me about places like this. 1. We today seem to think that we are at the peak of human ability to construct buildings and yet, I can assure the 3 year old home I am living in built with all manner of so called “high technological tools” certainly won’t be standing 800 or more years from now! 🤔 So maybe we should rethink our understanding of what people were capable of and what technologies they may have had access to in our past. 2. How in the world does a magnificent structure like this sit derelict and left to the elements? Don’t people realize these structures are our direct heritage to our ancestors? And certainly as such should be protected regardless of weather or not a current owner continues to care for or reside there! It just blows my mind what human beings are willing to either destroy or ignore for whatever reasons 🤷‍♀️ Cheers

Just because we have powertools and such doesnt mean we make lasting products with them. No doubt many houses back then were poorly constructed and didn't last. Throwing massive money into this old house hasn't made sense for anyone. .. often times it's the location. These places were built because it was useful. They served a purpose and saw many generations. When they no longer serve a purpose they should be left to decay. This is not a human being thing...animals do this too...it's nature...it's natural...and it follows the law of need and not the law of wishful thinking.

That isolated room that was small. I got the feeling that may have been used for anyone who have become sick or ill and they were separated from the rest of the household? I could be wrong but it's a thought. It did feel out of place from the rest

The black bedroom set with the coat of arms with ebonized wood and gilding is worth $10,000 USD or maybe even more (as a complete set with bed, ciel de lit, window valences and bedside table). I just bought a French Henri II bed made of solid rosewood that reminds me of that one. The set in the video here was made from 1860-1880 as a revival-style set.

And it is just sitting there rotting away!!! The banks would rather animals and the elements destroy such things than let someone come in and either rescue it or be allowed to care for it without giving them any money!! It is a complete travesty that things and places like this are aloud to rot!!! Cheers

#EXplomo: Maurino and Remon, just thoroughly enjoyed your exploration of the 14th century castle. You guys do a very great job in your travels. I had four boys and one girl and had no idea that anyone would travel and explore like you and others do. If my boys had done anything like you do on a regular basis I am certain that I would have asked to go along sometimes. I would have been turned down for sure. That's because I'm Momma and I worry too much.lol. god bless you, Teresa, Indianapolis, In

As much as I prefer to leave everything intact, it’s clear no one is going to renovate this place anytime soon. It would be great for a furniture restorer to take the furniture and old items to his shop and fix and sell them to ppl who can cherish them and give them a new life. Otherwise all these wonderful pieces will end up in a landfill...All of these items are worthy of preserving. That huge love seat or Church pew that had a highback and material on front, I agree was truly amazing and a restorer needs to rescue it quickly before the elements of rain start seeping through the cracks and ceilings. Maybe even a Church can get some of these items.

In Gent, Belgium, we have a castle called 'Gravensteen', it was build in 1180. It was nearly decimated in WWII and many times before, but we keep renovating it making sure it stays as much the same as it was. We keep it as a pride to show how resilient we are. You can walk in and out, it is now surrounded with cute shops, life goes on, it's just a castle in the middle of a busy city nobody here really pays much attention it's just the norm. But if you inspect it closer it's wacky, it has so many torture chambers, even underground, it was primarily used for that plus defense, when you realize the history standing inside makes your hair stand up lol.

pressing devices area is al lagar to juice apples to make cider if you are in the cantabric north, or maybe a prensa de vino if you are in castille, León or La Mancha. I dont know if it could press olives, if you are in Andalucía. i think you could use some help at dating artwork sometimes you take modern things for very ancient things btw, spanish climate is extremely varied, from chilling cold to continental to desertic, but never tropical, unless you thonk of canary islands...no, not even in Canarias you hurted me when you associated spain to flamenco and especially bullfighting unfortunately, bullfighting took place in hispan América south of France and Portugal, too. But i can swear it definitely Does NOT represent our culture. And less nowadays. Flamenco wasnt popular out of Andalucía until very recently Each other region used to have its own tradicional music and dances that were nothing like flamenco. Such as jota, muñeira or sardana. flamenco was popularized out from Andalucía by tourists, as paella was out from Pais Valenciano

Hi. The castle is remarkable, from beginning to end. It’s amazing that thankfully it hasn’t been vandalized or filled with graffiti-All these years! Please be careful. It looked as though a lot of dry-rot (in English) decay was in the wood. The beams could look normal but actually resemble rotted sawdust inside. I’ve been watching videos on yt made by an English family restoring a chateau in France (“Doing It Ourselves”). In the gardener’s cottage they’d removed the upstairs flooring down to the beams; and ready to start laying a new floor; when they discovered those great, fine looking beams were rotted on the inside and had to also be replaced (those 2 videos of how they accomplished that were awesome). Anyway, the purpose in my sharing is to remind you to be careful; and also, I think you’ll enjoy watching a chateau being restored to its former glory and lived in again; all work and grounds keeping done by the family. This castle your brought us amazes me. The architecture, open fireplace, and lovely furnishings left behind. THANK YOU for bringing us along. Loving you Maureno, Remon, and all Explomo team in the US! Stay safe. Stay Well! (With all respect, I hope it was ok to share where you can find video of rotted beams that looked strong but weren’t, if interested. Pls let me know if I’ve goofed.) Love.

Very interesting video. I saw possibly one, possibly three, items in the whole video (apart from the building itself) that may be roughly 14th or 15th century. That was the oddly shaped painting of Jesus and Maria in the first bedroom, and the 'cartoonish' religious icons in another bedroom (although I suspect those MIGHT be modern reproductions). The other was perhaps the 'ancient weapon', which to me looked like a piece of an early form of metal plough used in the 14th to 15th C. I've seen them in manuscripts but not a surviving example. Would love to get another opinion on this. The rest of the items, although very interesting, and some quite old, were not medieval. The 'dining room' would have originally been the castle's kitchen in the medieval period. Servants would have prepared food there, and served it to the noble family elsewhere in the house. It's very interesting to see more modern architectural features that have been added to the buildings. Was the 'lake' the remains of a moat, or defensive earthwork, perhaps? Thanks for posting.

Towards the end, there was a room where you said they made something in there. I believe they made olive oil. Spain is very well known for olive oil.

Hi guys! I saw this place from Urbex Woman and I saw that room with filming cameras and chains in the wall that you don't want to show. Good for you, because the felling watching that hidden room is devastating. Great video.

É muito difícil acreditar e aceitar o abandono dessas relíquias históricas por parte das autoridades dos respectivos países!!😲😲😲 Parece que as pessoas que viviam ai simplismente levantaram da cama saíram e fecharam as portas!!

Gorgeous historic place. Ancient and magnificent!! Glad that you guys are preserving history for us as sadly few others are. This gorgeous complex truly deserves to be kept intact. I loved the beautiful door leading in to the chapel and chapel itself. The doors seem to exemplify the moorish architectural style that greatly influenced Spain. Beautiful carving throughout the home. You truly bring joy to those of us who cherish history, architecture, art, and interior design. Such a blessing you all are!! Good bless your journeys. Safe travels! ❤️

That thing sitting by the fire place is from a tree. It is actually a growth that grows on the side of a tree and it is called a BURL. In most places you will pay an absolute fortune for these as they are prized because when you cut one in half it is absolutely stunningly beautiful. Keep up the god work guys. Luv u both.

I will never be able to do what you do or travel to Europe but you give me such joy in watching wonderful explorations. It saddeneds me to see the beautiful relics going to waste. Happy New year to you and yours.

I was researching castles. it's amazing how many are for sale. It seems that fixing them up is very very expensive. Part of the problem is that most of them are in a remote location. The roads are often not good enough for large trucks to travel on. The shipping costs are often astronomical. That is maybe why so much furniture is left behind. it's fine to move a few things but the more you try to take, the less worth it it is I guess.

This house reminds me of my grandma‘s house, she’s in heaven. When I saw the first bedroom with a window looked like one of my grandma‘s bedroom I used to stay in. This was like on 1962. I just love your videos❤️👍🏻👍🏻

They had St Thérèse of Lisieux, Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face on the wall above the bed. She was born in 1873, died in 1897 and canonized 1925. Makes you wonder how possibly original that picture was. Sadly it’s left in a room with a wide open window and failing ceiling. Someone should rescue it and other items to a safer room.

This was beautiful beyond compare. I’ve been waiting for a Medieval castle. What a thrill. Some of the furniture was perfect for this castle even though it mightn’t have been from the same period of the castle itself. I loved the simplicity of the rooms. Less is more. This has been a thrill!!! Thankyou.

1:42 That looks really old. 2:10 Stained glass showing knights. Magnificent. 3:11 That looks very medieval and very dark. No windows. 6:24 The construction is so rough and old. 27:34 That is a beautiful view and would make a great photo. That was an amazing historic building with a random layout. It would be a little depressing living there. Too dark and rough for me.

I love the building, but don't see antique furniture. Most of what I see looks post 1945 and has little or no value. The bed and night stand might be older, probably 1920-1940 period, but could also be more recent. The red cloth in the bedroom is probably less than 25 years old. A lot of the decoration looks cheap. I guess if there was anything of value, it is gone and what is left behind is of little value because it's not that old and also poor in design quality. Still I think some of it is worth restoring, but the value in current stat is very low.

Fabulous castle, looks like it’s been abandoned since the 70’s the things in the dining room from that era, cups, glass fish. Amazing furniture! Apparently in Spain, once the roof goes, it’s illegal to do a property up, also lot’s of inheritance tax and disputes in families with wills etc. It would be such a waste if this castle and the furniture isn’t saved. Strange how it’s so easy to get into. I really like your videos, relaxing and calming, thank you both x
