Very interesting property! I say this not to disparage your commentary but to assist. If you plan to continue making property discovery videos, I hope these suggestions help. Please, take some casual courses in architecture, home decor and antiques/furniture styles. Maybe ask someone much older/experienced on items not relevant anymore or just unknown to you. Never assume anything. Your commentary will be more knowledgeable and correct and will make your videos more enjoyable. I think you will get more out of these properties as well. ☮️💜

I wanted to say how great you explained the history of the family and how the home became alone and abandoned. I believe I counted at least 7-8 bedrooms. Im just wondering why so many bedrooms and large estates built for a family of three. Was it just a way to boast your wealth? For examples a cadtle has so many rooms in it. Regardless of whether they were bedrooms, livingrooms, parlors, diningrooms. A family of any size can only accommodate so much space at any given time. It just seems like a waste of space, a lot of upkeep, staff, taxes, etc. Just to show of wealth, I assume. Seems nuts to me, however!! Because wealth is not always achieved by every family member. Then the castle is left abandoned as in many cases the family who inherits it is not able to keep it up because they aren'tas wealthy as their predecessor. We can't take it with us. And we see so much proof of this (not that we need it) through all the abandoned homes. Where everything is left behind. A lifetime of working, buying, collecting, and all for what? All for nothing.
@resetsetmefree4782 ай бұрын
the description says it was built in the 1600s . If that's true then it originally would have been an aristocrats chateau. Built for a much larger family I'm sure because it was much more common back then
@z3ph3us62 ай бұрын
Back in the 17th and 18th centuries, people had bigger families. It was not uncommon to have between 8 to like 13 children. Of course that tradition has slowly changed. Most people who have children have less than half that.
@z3ph3us62 ай бұрын
Large houses also provided more living space for each family member so they were given the opportunity to develop individually and independently. More things to do. Art rooms, libraries, studies, music rooms, etc. People utilized living space more constructively and productively; sadly, that went by the wayside as the ruling class wanted to be the only class to afford such things.
@resetsetmefree4782 ай бұрын

What a great video and an amazing pad. While watching, I could envision this place with a large family entertaining themselves in each room. Children running and playing about. The smell of fresh bread being cooked. Although the kitchen was quite a disaster, I did like the grand fireplace. The small negative photos are referred to as "slides" rather than Polaroid pictures. There would usually be a projector or some sort of view master so they could be viewed. On the other hand, Polaroid pictures are instant photos that wouldn't need any developing them. They'd come out of the camera, and after drying, you'd have your photo instantly without going through the developing process Polaroids were around since 1937, but the SX-70 Polaroid, the latest invention, came about from 1972-1981. Thank you for sharing with us. I love these old pads that are original to their time. And this home surely was. P€ac€ ~n~ £0v€✌️

A very long time ago ……. the beginning of this you show a bedroom by the kitchen & dining, that would belong to the butlers. That way they could rise early to start breakfast, or dinner. This’ll be handy to hire extra help for special dinners. It seems more plausible to me.
