So ture. Unfortunately, it not only takes a lot of money to acquire this one but I'd say an equal amount to restore it properly (structurally sound and free of mold etc). The peeling walls and marks on the floor speak of extensive water damage, usually accompanied by mold and rot :/ But yes, this would be sooo beautiful if somebody had the time and money to restore it to its former glory.

I see 19th century, I see marble I see . 1920’s. 1940’s, 1980’s and I suspect someone tried in recent decade to restore and found it overwhelming. We had empty property for years. Such a beautiful property - what a shame it's all being left to rot. The main house wasn't abandoned that long ago because there are solar panels on the roof; the servants' house was abandoned a long time ago. Somebody is definitely keeping an eye on it all, protecting the furniture (no dust flying up from the dust sheets when you took them off) and cutting the lawn, and the Aga looks impeccable. So worth restoring! The wooden things in the mansion hallway are old loo seats - probably Victorian.

And if that is not proof enough for you, then one of the rooms on the upper floor there should have been lit up like you're walking in a solarium, yet most of them except for the one or two rooms that actually held a smaller skylight, were all fairly dim, getting lighting in from their windows instead! Then there is the mysterious power issue in the home! If those are not solar panels, collecting solar power for the home to use to light its lights, among other things, then where is the power coming from? I don't see any utility poles anywhere, stringing power from afar through electrical wires for the home to use, and I can't really see someone going to great expense to trench in power utilities underground for untold kilometres, through forests and farmland for just three buildings, do you? Nope! Those are solar panels, and some where in the home there is a bank of batteries, fully charged up and raring to go. In one of those locked rooms in all likelihood!

Housing and land is actually more expensive in the British Isles. In the us, its value would be based on location. I’ve seen large homes like this and with the same amount of decay being sold for less than a million dollars. You’re basically buying the land and they’re often discounted because the house is unlivable. In the US, a wealthy person would tear it down and start over. There may be exceptions, but the cost of remediation and renovation may not be economically feasible.

Incredible find Adam The fact that some of the furniture was covered for protection perhaps meant someone intended to move in again.Very sad to see this place abandoned.Strange the way the electric still on Thanks Adam for showing me.

Wonder if someone was doing it up and ran out of money, with the carpets being up, the fresh plaster and it looks like some of the electrics had been updated aswell, this is an absolutely beautiful house with stunning views I can’t believe it’s just sat there empty

What an amazing place, would have been stunning. The four buildings looks like the carriage house, and where the driver and groom and family lived which later was a car probably.

What a shame those kind of houses are abandoned. Wonderful exploration as usual! You are not afraid to venture anywhere which is so cool! 🥰

The key on the window seal is probably the key for that door in the kitchen

One of the nicest place’s you’ve explored Adam. It would have been absolutely amazing in its day, a hive of activity given all those rooms and the sheer size of the place…if only one could go back in time and take a tour through. Great job 👍

Such a beautiful home, so sad to see it crumbling away. Looks like the outbuilding/cottage would have been for a chauffeur or gardener, maybe housekeeper/cook lived in the main house? Would love to know the history and stories from this stunning house.
