I'm sure you will find some things that need attention but all in all I think you've got a good truck. Excellent

Thank you. Planning on pulling engine out of the 73 ramcharger/club cab truck and putting it in this one. Going to have to do some transmission crossmember repair work though. It's butchered up pretty bad. Planning on trying to get it running for hot rod power tour

I love the sound of that Mopar starter!

They definitely have a sound of their own!

They really do and I could listen to them for a long time!

Back in "85, my job was to rebuilt spray guns and I always wanted to know how well the cleaner would do on auto parts; now I know, thanks.

I love how unedited this is. It’s awesome to watch everything. Please put a camera inside so we can see what you do when you start it up (gas pedal operation etc)
@sandknobrestorations4402 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Are you meaning just different views of what's going on (i.e. split screen) or what exactly? I do try to edit it a bit, but working a full time job, and farming as well doesn't leave tremendous time for sprucing these up besides the basics.

I have 4 more classics to get going (two involve long drives) with possibly 3 more on top of that. So I am definitely interested in any tips!

@@sandknobrestorations440 no it was a compliment. I think you did great by leaving in all the cranking and whatnot. I meant it would have been cool to see you starting it from inside the truck. I didn’t grow up with carbureted vehicles and find cold starting carbureted vehicles fascinating. Specifically seeing what you do with the gas pedal, choke, etc. it would be amazing to see. Anyway, awesome channel! I subscribed and liked your video :-)

@@sandknobrestorations440 please make cold starts and first starts with them and show us from inside what you’re doing with the gas pedal when getting them started. Maybe outside the drivers door with the door open - or from the passenger side looking in. Either way! Just film it all

good video!! but you need a full wind cover for your mic
@sandknobrestorations4402 жыл бұрын
Yes, I completely agree. It is horrible to listen to as it is. Got any tips on where to find one? Thanks

do not be afraid of pouring more fuel in the carb, you need to get the fuel to all 8 cylinders.

cant hear a thing but wind.
@sandknobrestorations4402 жыл бұрын
Yep. I fixed that problem for future videos. Made a windscreen for the camera.

Still can not hear you and check for spark and firing order

too much wind noise can't hear you
@sandknobrestorations4402 жыл бұрын
Yes, that problem was fixed in later videos and future ones. Made a wind screen for the camera mic that seems to work pretty decent. Check out the 73 Dodge w100 video with the updated mic. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it on this video.

We got it lined out by the end of the video. Was able to drive it a bit before it would overheat because of a bad radiator. It actually runs extremely well

@@mcdradus they are great trucks honestly. I've had many of them over 20+ years of driving
