ABANDONED 1979 Z28 Camaro Brake Repair and First Burnout in 36 in Years!

The ole Z28 finally runs decent, but can't stop for nothing.
Lets see if we can fix the brakes with a new master and hoses then immediately do a big smokey burnout!

@LyonRacing24 the car needs a posi and a hot cam lol. Should probably upgrade rear brakes and get a clutch first lol. Nice tools by the way, DeWalt all the way.

Defiantly needs a clutch BAD! it slips just shifting into 2nd. I had to help it do a burnout with working the brakes lol i want to get it on the road once, then its gonna need a full tear down to fix everything. We will get there eventually, and if its all pulled apart might as well put a cam in lol

My first car I bought in 1987 was a 1978 Camaro Type LT. Even though the car was less than ten years old it already had the rust of a car twice its age. 😅 Regardless I did a full resto on it and kept it for over twenty years. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

I love you're Camaro videos so much! I am 19 and have and a 1981 Camaro z28 that I'm restoring. unfortunately nobody in my family works on cars and I'm self taught so you are definitely helping me figure out how things should be put back together on this car. Exploding brake hoses is a good indication that the hose is completely clogged up. Please wear some eye protection while heating those, boiling brake fluid is not something you want in your eyes. Edit: at 13:50 you read my mind 😂 Is that another small block chevy on the garage floor?

lol yeah for sure, them lines couldn’t pass any fluid. I had my head hid behind the fender on the fronts. Yeah man that’s another 350 with a cam and some double hump heads just waiting on a drag car project! I also have a 6.0 and 5.3 LS in the shop too. The 6.0 is going in the BMW to replace the tired 5.3 that’s in it now after this drift season!

I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4.7 L 4 x 4 . 220,000 MI. Runs good , but now I'm getting this limp mode coming up once in awhile? What are some things in your opinion to investigate?😢

Limp mode might be a MAF, TPS, MAP. Should be throwing some codes.

@@trentdawg2832 yeah I’m pretty sure it’s not a posi unfortunately, but it has sat for awhile might need some new fluid to help it grab. Idk if it’s a clutch type. I’m definitely going to check the build sheet when I get home. I was fortunate enough that the person I bought the car from saved all of that paper work lol
