i just bought a 1985 ford f150 inline 6 yesterday and these videos give me confidence that i can fix mine lol

It's a shame it was so rusty. They are pretty decent trucks and not expensive like square bodies. 🤣

If I bypass the smog pulley that goes to the alternator is it still going to pull enough to keep charging the battery
@MyLegacyGarage9 ай бұрын
I would think if you bypass it you'd need a new shorter belt?

A buddy had one of these with the inline 6. Thing had 300k miles on it and leaked oil like crazy. He would add oil when it would start knocking. Couldn’t kill it.

They are very stout engines for sure. It's a shame the rest of the truck is so rusty. Thanks for watching!

As I said in Part 1 of this build, These Bull/Bricknose trucks are by far the most popular truck build now because they are the last of the affordable Classic trucks. Your question about why Autozone would sell a part they know they are going to have to return? Because they are AutoZone and they just plainly don't care, They want to sale you a apart, they DAF if it works or not, it's all about quanity not quality for them. That's why I won't even buy spray paint from Autozone, just because the can says "Flat black" there's a 50/50 chance the paint inside is Gloss White..... I once got into a "discussion" with a store manager about a belt tensioner on a car that they watched me take off IN THEIR PARKING LOT........ he tried to tell me "Well our computer says...." Dude, my car is right there outside your window, I have grease up to my elbows and you and your boyfriend over stood there and watched me take it off.... Your computer is WRONG. I went across the street to O'Rielly and got the right part and a new belt in less than 2 minutes........
@MyLegacyGarage11 ай бұрын
They really don't bring much money that's for sure. It's a shame really because they are good trucks. I wish we had an O'Reillys around here but unfortunately AutoZone is the only game in town. I try to order online whenever I can but sometimes need stuff sooner. Thanks for watching again!
@TheREALOC197211 ай бұрын
@@MyLegacyGarageWe don't have an Autozone anymore, they folded it up because, well Autozone, we still have O'Reilly's, Napa and Advanced.
@MyLegacyGarage11 ай бұрын

@@MyLegacyGarage Yeah we got lucky, The one we have almost closed 20 years because the owner retired and moved to California with his kids but our recently (at the time) retired Wal-mart Store manager bought it to, she teases her husband that she only bought it so she could spend some time with him because "he spent more time there than at home".

The battery situation is any company makes less profit on the "economy " lower end stuff soo they want you to buy higher end products cause way more profit margins

A channel worth watching? Definitely. A truck worth making roadworthy? Of course not. A lesson learned. Check it all out thoroughly, preferably before you open your wallet. It rides high enough, you could have crawled underneath... We all make mistakes. Nice try, though. And you've got a sponsor! That's a good thing...🇬🇧👍

I saw it pop up on marketplace for $300. Had just enough time to get it and get home for other things. Figured I couldn't get hurt too bad at that price and you gotta be quick when stuff like that pops up. At least around here. 🤣 Thanks for watching! We appreciate the support!
@billdyke974511 ай бұрын
@@MyLegacyGarage At that kind of price you don't stand to lose much. Take off anything tasty, scrap the rest and you're showing a profit. And a KZbin video to boot to entertain all the armchair mechanics. Many thanks. 👍
