Abandoned 4Runner restoration Part 2: Budget Paint Job

Budget driveway / shed / shop paint job on my super cheap, abandoned 3rd gen 4runner. Painting it back to stock using a harbor freight paint gun and a $50 marketplace compressor. I messed the entire paint job up, corrected it, and learned a ton from my experience. The goal was to get this 1998 4runner all one color and I did that… let me know your thoughts and tips in the comments!

I'm glad you made the mistakes with the paint! I know people will watch this rebuild and get inspired to do the same. So this is a great example to let people see what would happen if they don't test their spray technique before painting something they want to come out nice. Spraying too close or too heavy will result in runs. A lot of work is left to sand and buff but the paint is going to look great especially in this rare color.

Would love to see a comparison between rattle can 1k primer 1k duplicolor basecoat and 2k spraymax clearcoat vs an actual 2k primer 2k basecoat and 2k clearcoat from a spraygun. Which one would last longer and which would be more glossy
