We had a Kmart at a mall that is now defunct. It was one of the anchor stores of the old Assembly square mall in Somerville, Ma. Which had closed like 20 years ago and was converted into a strip mall / plaza 18 years ago. - Kmart weathered that. There was a bus stop at that location but when Assembly Row was built up across the street and opened seven or so years ago, they rerouted the bus stop way across the parking lot. It inconvenienced many of the elderly shoppers and other shoppers with disabilities who shopped at the Kmart and Christmas tree shop on the strip. Anyway the Kmart here closed just before the pandemic hit and Adam Trash, a content creator, has the video of its last days. I have watched that Kmart ACME opening video and it was sad to see the heartbreak of employees and customers alike on its closure. Thanks for sharing.

My little sister was a cashier at this Kmart for years, I used to shop here occasionally and use the pharmacy. My first job was stocking groceries next door at what was Tom's Food Market. Check out what used to be the garden center at Tom's, I was last in there in 2004 and even then it looked like it had been abandoned for 20 years and was being used to store all kinds of stuff, would be weird to see that all empty now if they bothered to clean it out.

Someone else had posted the grand opening video. Sadly, this store didn't quite make it to 30 years which would have been in 2019.

Davin Peterson yeah I gave the guy credit in the description for the grand opening video, it’s a shame this one closed, I thought it was always a nice Kmart, nicer than the traverse city one for sure
