I filmed a video visiting this town about a year ago and edited the video and felt like I did a terrible job showing this beautiful place so I deleted it.
I wanted to show more history and how things worked and where the lumber went and things like that.
I did show all that in this video either but I still wanted to show yall the town since I was already out here filming for ‪@IntoTheMissed‬ video.
I will in the future dig up a whole bunch of information and really give this town the recognition I think it deserves.
For now here is a quick look at Forester Arkansas.
The largest sawmill in the whole state in the 40s.
Ill let the video explain the rest!
Love you guys thanks for watching!!

Howdy Drew- that’s really interesting. Back in the early 1900’s there were several logging companies in the Ouachita forests. They were cutting out the virgin timber. Not any left now. Would have been nice to see what it looked like back then. Take care and God bless

Drew I’m curious to find out if they used the wood or logs for building ships for the war.. it might have been to late in date tho.. I’m not sure.. but that’s what my home was built from n I was told it was built in 1909 or 1919 which date is right I’m not sure.. but they had to much shiplap so they sold it cheap n my home was one that bought it n built it.. I’m not sure if u notice.. but some walls in here are like a foot wide.. then later they built on other rooms which are obvious especially when u live here u do notice .. I do n I recently figured out the cupboards with glass on tops where built when home was smaller n is a special wood too I got to still research

Wow! Always love seeing old abandoned places and hearing the history of what happened there. It’s great there’s signs with information on them and a display of pictures and map. Those concrete walls were pretty thick, of course they made things back then to last. It’s in a beautiful setting too with the ponds and trees. Wish more places would have the signs with the information on them. Thank you for sharing this. Excellent video!

Similar to Mauldin, Arkansas in Montgomery County. Mauldin was etablished in 1918, a timber logging operation/town, whole town was disassembled in 1933.

Im gonna try seeing this abandoned ghost town,i just may look into moving out toward there. Out there my family could start a couple small businesses .... I think both would be pretty easy setup and opening. opening up 2 businesses that quickly and get them setup and ready for business also ; will be great if successfully achieved at rates needed, and easy overhead made along with good profits too.

I lived in the small community of "Nola" just up the road from there. Havent been in awhile, loved going out there with my Dad over 20 years ago now, he knew a lot about Forrester, saw it when it was in operation and everything, even knew people who lived there.

Drew your videos are always so beautiful, I was so hoping you had set up a camera or two for the Truss Party! I guess you did not, but it is well documented that you and Mike are Spider Monkey Brothers! Working the edge of the wall the entire day, that’s not an easy feat! I worked construction for years those were a lot of risky hours you both put in! Well done you know your work is appreciated! ❤❤
