HISTORY
The North Wales child abuse scandal was the subject of a three-year, £13 million investigation into the physical and sexual abuse of children in care homes in the counties of Clwyd and Gwynedd, in North Wales, including the Bryn Estyn children's home at Wrexham, between 1974 and 1990.
The report into the scandal, headed by retired High Court Judge Sir Ronald Waterhouse QC, which was published in 2000, resulted in changes in policy in England and Wales into how authorities deal with children in care,and to the settling of 140 compensation claims on behalf of victims of child abuse.
In November 2012, new allegations led to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, announcing that a senior independent figure, later named as Mrs Justice Julia Macur, would examine the conduct and remit of the Waterhouse Inquiry.
In addition, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, announced a new police inquiry into how the original allegations were dealt with, as well as an investigation of any new allegations.
The broadcasting of false allegations on Newsnight on 2 November led to the resignation of the Director - General of the BBC, George Entwistle, eight days later.
The report of phase one of the police investigation, Operation Pallial, was published on 29 April 2013.
It set out a total of 140 allegations of abuse at 18 children's homes in North Wales between 1963 and 1992.
The police stated in November 2013 that, in the previous year, over 200 people had come forward to assist their enquiries.
In November 2014, the owner of several children's residential homes in the Wrexham area, John Allen, was convicted at Mold Crown Court on 33 counts of sexual abuse against 19 boys and one girl, aged between 7 and 15, during the 1960s and 1970s, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

In my city in England 4 years ago a man killed himself as he was abused when he was a teenager and no one would listen to him, police, social services, his family and friends where fighting for him before his death. After his death the police and social services started to look into his case & are going to take action. Someone should not have to die for something to be done

Happens so often it’s impossible to fight for justice on an individual level, no law will stop this, any provisions or support given will be taken away in the name of austerity and “common sense”

That's sad to hear he wasn't listened too and not taken seriously for him to take his life, again its something I can relate to myself and it does make you lose alot of hope and trust in services such as police doctors mental health services etc unfortunately when there is actually good people within these professions too and sad that the negative and bad ones make such a bad outlook for the rest of them.

I have a friend who was in a children's home and was abused in the 70s, it took until 2 years ago for him & the other children/ adults to get compensation for the abuse

Sorry to hear about that 😞 and as much as they where compensated and got justice, a trauma like that is something that will always effect a person's life and stick with them and haunt them for many years as can relate myself. But hopefully there getting the right care and treatment and therapy they need

I had a friend who's aunties dog used to run in the park with this other dog who's own knew a woman who's son went to school with the brother who's mates dad suffered abuse by the church,I don't remember which church though.

Firstly you didn’t talk about any of the dark history. Secondly you said you were a help to security and the police by telling them where your entry point was, but you did open a couple of windows during your exploration. Thirdly, slow down with the camera you missed so much stuff! Also do your research 😊

1986, it was closed, and the investigations were a joke cops.came to see me in 1992 they were enjoying the day out and getting paid, too, whilst my wife and kids were sat in my front room I claimed up I never spoke about it to my wife I carried to much guilt and shame IT wasn't till late 1990s I saw steven meassham on kilroy blowing the whistle I got the solicitors number and rang them 18 months I was there at school we were taught nothing just sit there drawing and smoking that was it I couldn't read or do basic math when I left I came home on Easter leave it was a Friday in April so I went to the job center got a YTS job carpet fitting i did interview sat morning started work on the Monday when I came home from work I rang Bryn estyn I told them I'm 16 got a job and no way was I ever going back I told them ide just keep going on the run every time cops would take us back so they let me stay home and I was then under my parents guardianship again the main bastards was STAN FLETCHER NIGHT WATCHMAN HE TORTURED ME PHIL MURRY PUCHED ME A FEW TIMES AND SET OTHER KIDS 3 4 AT A TIME TO BEAT UP ME N MY BROTHER WHEN WRE FIST GOT THERE ROB JONES AND DAVE BIRCH 2 FAT CUNTS RUGBY PLAYERS TURNED BACK UP TO OUR BEDROOM AFTER DAY STAFF HAD GONE COZ A FEW OF US STOLE SOME MONEY THEYDVFINISHED AT 10PM they went to the rugby club on the lane got pist till midnight then Stan further xcop night watch man let them in and they came storming into the dorm room 4am before they left the dorm after 4 hours of shouting screaming at us the threats then one of us would be taken to the corridor to get offered a deal to grass offered a evening pass cigs bacca they just wanted the money back the other 2 handed theirs over I kept mine outside and I was keeping every single penny after that grilling we were cunts coz they were cjnts

Thank you for your upload video 📹. I think 🤔 it is so good that true Urbex Explorers keep locations hidden too prevent destruction and for the building 🏢 to be respected. I have noticed like many others THE BEARDED EXPLORER sells his pictures and locations to 🗞 newspapers for value and he revisits them when they are 🔥 burnt down after....... has anyone else noticed this ??? I wonder

Your most welcome and exactly but again we can't predict what the next person going to be like and if you want to promote via papers because I do think promotion is actually a good thing to a degree give a area over the actual location where it deffiently is something I've learned massively on but yeah I never sold pictures more than anything it's been paper's asking me and I've asked for the promotion on a video I wish to share which has given better exposure because why share it to only small community when the actual community its in can share there memories and information of the place and relive the experience yet again. This place has been sealed and is alarmed anyways as we found out and more than anything more than happy to help security and police to point out way in yes it pit stops to others but least we know its protected

Why would you bother in the first place??? I have walked around the grounds of this building for many years with family, dogs, and friends and the whole place is quite amazing and just full of biodiversity, as do many local people that enjoy the area and building, and am shocked that it has been left alone like it has! Should have been sold off by the owners years ago ( council ) but was left rotting because of the developer's plans in the area. Adults breaking into this building for some strange reason have to be honest, have some sort of mental problems as I as well as many other people have loads of pictures of the interior, etc. The abuse that is well documented sadly happened for a short period towards the end of its use as an approved school for boys and that was over 40 years ago!... Its original history of why it exists is amazing, but I can't be bothered telling that story on this silly video!!!
