I remember shopping here coming with my girlfriends as a teen we had so much fun together here I remember getting our parents to drop us off and we would just shop and have a good time…… I have photos of myself back years ago in the mall.. It’s crazy seeing it now like this! Thank you for sharing!

Depressing, this was my favorite mall back in the '90s. It had a stranger selection of stores compared to other malls, stuff I enjoyed like a comic book store, a hobby store and a musical instrument store.

When the Willingboro Plaza closed up, the stores from there moved here when this was finished being built. I used to love shopping here in the 80s & 90s. Brings back lots of memories for me.

Things were way better back then, commercials had more character, movies looked more realistic, there was less technology so you were living the moment more, etc. It will never be the same, society has changed for the worse.

@@mattmaugeri2486 I was a teenager when I used to frequent the Burlington center. I used to ride my bike there. I always bought Swatch watches from Strawbridge & Clothier. It's surely sad 😭 to see the state of it now. The fond memories I had there will forever be with me.

Annnnd now it's gone. Tore it down. Rather sad but it was already dead I suppose. I learned how to play the trumpet in that mall, hanged around the gamestop afterwards. There was also this one place that would always hand out free food samples. I miss it real bad

The mall went downhill in the past 10 years, once Macy's & JCPenney left the others followed I'm assuming. It didn't help also that they had several gang members start violence there and temporarily closed the mall in January 2007

I grew up in this area in the early-mid 2000s within walking distance of this mall. I have memories of visiting this mall with my family 15 years ago, and even then it was sketchy. We started going out to Moorestown or Cherry Hill to shop instead. Last time I visited Burlington Center was maybe 6-7 years ago and it had really gone downhill. It’s shocking for me to see the state of the exterior now....to see this place I visited in my childhood look post-apocalyptic today.

That store was vutt sunglasses. Was basically the only thing bringing in customers towards to end. Used to go there all the time. Thankfully they moved out and got a nice big store right before closure

The first and last time I was at this mall was December 11th, 2018. I was able to see a little more inside but everything was locked up. some of the outdoor stairs were accessible but not much could be seen from them, and I couldn't get a good glimpse inside to see where the elephant statue stood or if it was still there. I'm sure by now it's been relocated I also recall right outside of here was an abandoned Chuck E cheese's. A few little updates I hadn't seen before, thanks for sharing

I was stationed at Ft. Dix in 2008 and was about to head home for Christmas. I had to get my grandmother a present so I went to the Macy's at this mall and got her something. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago, but looking at this video... wow

Thanks for sharing that memory, I never been to this mall ever but it seems like back in the day it was more memorable. In the dying days of this mall, I heard it was a ghost town in it. A lot of stores closed down

@@williamliss7129 Ames was a department store similar to Bradlees, Caldor & Jamesway back then. The company went defunct in 2002 and some of their buildings are still abandoned, which is crazy. I filmed several of them in the tri state area

John Hand Yeah I know. I think what was the beginning of their downfall was the crime and vandalism possibly inside the mall and some people probably heard about it and didn’t come back to the mall. I think the security back then was better but later on got worse, idk. As you can see in the video, a security guard came over to me and asked what was I doing lol

Yeah I saw some pictures on Flickr.com of the mall starting to be demolished. I forgot what was going to come this area in the future, probably a warehouse or a housing complex

@@TimurD1905 Warehouses, Retail and I believe housing. They are suppose to be clearing away all the trees over to 295. That Mall should have never been allowed to get in that condition. I used to love Musicland and Sam goody. Yes both were there at the same time briefly. I got a guitar from Farringtons Music in 1991. Always loved stopping at the Hot Sams for a pretzel. Then there were the two other fountains that get no mention in some of the dead mall videos. The one in front of Sears, and the other down at Center Court. The Elephant Statue Fountain was cool, but there was a lot more to that Mall then that. You had to be there.

I know, I explained to him that I don't do any vandalism and he didn't buy into it. I don't understand some people. At least I got some footage, I wish I hadn't parked my car in the parking lot there and instead parked it at the Chuck E Cheese parking lot. Btw, both the CEC and the mall are torn down now. At least it's out of their misery now

Hi It used to be a very very long time ago it was down town and city shopping then the big big shopping mall came along and big name department store and other major retailers came along and that was the down fall for down town and city shopping the mall have food courts arcades entertainment for young and old and massive free parking N.J. transit buses bus stops trains and you get just about everything @ the malls clothing sports gear V.H.S. video rentals gaming shops gadgets electronics and so much more and meet with friends and families and parents bring there children clothes shopping and drop off to go to the arcades before everybody had there own home video games back in the the 1970s 1980s 1990s parents work @ malls there young teenagers work @ malls . now they are fading away and standing frozen in time before the wrecking ball and demolition teams come in and they are gone for ever . now they are saying amazon maybe looking in to buying the empty huge malls and they become amazon warehouses and maybe even high end luxury housing units in N.J. and all over the united states . it will never be the same shopping Experience .

Well, for me personally some of these places bring back memories when I used to go inside stores like Bradlees, Caldor, Modell's, Kmart, Sears, etc. And all these stores are either closed or dying a slow death right now. I also get requests from people for abandoned/closed places to record.

Just look at my vids and you’ll see. I did a video of an abandoned Caldor in Middletown, NY, a couple Bradlees in NJ, an Ames in Wrightstown, NJ. Those are some old retailers that are not alive anymore. What are the abanonded places that you know?
