Guys, this brought back a flood of memories. I used to go there as a kid(!) when it was Jai Alai - my grandparents loved to bet on it. I would do anything for that pizza sign - my grandparents used to buy us pizza slices and I remember it fondly. When you went through the hole in the wall I was hoping you had a more powerful flashlight as that was the walled-off fronton where Jai Alai was played. Seriously, this was amazing and I want that pizza sign now. 😂

This old casino has been around since the 1970s and it was called Newport Hai Lai. It was a racquetball type game that you can place bets. The stadium was for the games. It was changed to a casino in the early 1990s. I went to it back then and it was empty and creepy and full of cigarette smoke.

Been there many times ...at one time a classy place especially to bet horses ...I've been a horseplayer for a long time in Rhode Island there used to be two horse tracks...Lincoln downs & Narragansett Park in Pawtucket...Newport jai alai had simulcasting of racing for years ...it was always better than going to twin river to play the horses.
