It's not abandoned but it's EXTREMELY depressed. Been here a couple yrs and I'm leaving here. Not a happy place although several try their best to keep this place alive. It's just a completely sad place. Like no one cares for whatever reason. Alot of us just mind our business and stay inside. Some just waiting until they can leave. The air and water here is HORRIBLE and I can't help but think this place is some what of an "experiment" to see how people can live in such a depressed and miserable state. I hate this place and I truly feel bad for alot of good people here.

Had quite an adventure here in the nineties..Some dude walked out in front of my car and fell over like I hit him. The girl I was with knew what he was up to and sure enough she was right....on down the road and he gets up and walks away like nothing happened..That was on the main drag which you showed at the beginning of the video with the old bars along the road..

At :28 lies the entire reason for the "rust belt". In 1959 USW went to on strike mainly to stop the mechanizing of steel mills. During that strike the companies that needed steel "cough auto makers" started importing steel and found it was cheaper to buy imported steel so after the strike was over the customers never returned. Then other things that could be made cheaper overseas started showing up. "cough automobiles". So now the entire auto and steel industry were crippled with appliances and electronics following suit. That strike based on greed destroyed American manufacturing. That is why I am so anti union today. If they could farm out the building trades to foreigners "cough illegals" the carpenters unions would feel the heat and maybe the American people would wake up to what most unions are. Unions are money makers to the people that run the unions. Less union workers means less income for the greedy at the top of union leadership. Unions stopped being for the workers decades ago, I'd say over half a century. They did a good thing for 40-45 years and after that...screw the worker.

True Drone Reviews you guys are talking about totally different things lol. It appears that most businesses closed due to the steel industry in the area closing but it's not COMPLETELY abandoned. Thank you for the video it definitely gave me some insight.

When I seen "abandoned" in the title, I was thinking, wow.. half way through the video I spotted a second car driving. I've never seen Clairton that void of people. If you want to see a trashed town, go across the bridge down the hill there and hang a left.
