When I think Pennsylvania it's steel industrial city/ towns Claritin happens to be one.. Much of the old architecture seems to be holding strong . Sadly another city passed on Thank you for sharing your time 👍🏻 stay safe in your travels

We moved out of Clairton ten years ago after living here for 20 years and raising our kids there. There are some neighborhoods a bit nicer than what is shown on the video, but not many. A rough town but the people were great. When you live in a small town the same families do everything, little league, Cub Scouts, library hour, etc. you really got to know people. Unfortunately Clairton keeps spiraling downward.

I am from Germany. Our steel industry is gone too. But we try to develop new industries so that people can stay in their homes.

I appreciate that you show a balance of dilapidated homes, closed and open businesses and an industrial area. Not many services or things to do in Clairton. As my grandmother with Alzheimer's would say "What a lovely town!"

I will never cease to be surprised at seeing a row of completely abandoned and ruined homes, with a single home still lived in. The one at 0:50 got me. Decorative lights and kids toys outside. Right next to all that rot and decay. Quite the dichotomy.

Makes you wonder why they still have stoplights...a stop sign would suffice with how dead it is everywhere.

My father was born and raised here. I had many happy memories of visiting my grandparents here and aunt a few towns over when I was a kid, as well as going to Kennywood. It is really sad to see what happened to this once beautiful town.

What a shame. So many people in every state are homeless and here sits all these buildings just going to trash. Sad that a town has come to that.

There's places in Britain that are in exactly the same state of ruin as shown here, but they insist on building over more and more of our precious green spaces. We're a tiny island and don't have unlimited space, why not work with what we've got?

A place that once was ruled by a steel economy . PITTSBURGH Pennsylvania steel capital of the world. Presently being on a global market , competition , and modern technologies is what happened. It is so sad to see this .

Clairton is not Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh adapted...Clairton did not.

I usually find some bit of beauty in the derelict structure, but not here. The gloomy winter day doesn't help. Again, you can tell that once they built the projects (tons of them it appears), no new single family home builds came after.

I grew up in Clairton graduating in 1986. I loved it there. I remember stopping at Grisniks (spelling?) bakery across from the post office in the mornings before school. I’m very sad to see what it has become.
