Yes I remember the eagle when I was a child and teenager and the food court in the 80s and 90s

I worked at the Kinney Shoes at Crossroads Mall in the mid-80s when I was in grad school. I can't believe it's been nearly 20 years now that it's been demolished.

Wow! This mall was my childhood. I haven’t thought of it in years. Thank you for posting this. I don’t remember that much about this mall, so these pictures definitely helped me make some connections in my memories!

Really enjoyed watching this video. I worked at this mall from 1987-1989 when I was in my 20s. I think we all remember the first job we had sentimentally even if it was a lame job. Thanks for posting. (ps, my boss at the time was ka0wnd, not sure why stuff like that sticks in a persons memory, but I've never been able to track down John Roberts--ka0wnd to say hi)

Tony Thatcher parts had been vacant for years, some anchor stores were still active. it was a weird place to explore. decay was horrible in some parts, leaks, mold, and brand new in others

As a woodworker I would love to have any of the railings and other wooden items. Looked like solid oak. I would pass it through my planer and build something new out of it. Of course I see at the end it was demolished. They did the same thing by me.

That giant bird (eagle?) was solid wood and was about 1 story tall. I HOPE it was saved and put to use somehow...but so much waste in general. This was a rather nice place

1murhh69 that's weird. Recycling mall names I guess. Abandoned malls are amazing though... I'd go visit if I knew I could get into another place like this. It was a wild crazy experience I will never forget.

The OKC Crossroads is closing permanently on Oct 31st 2017. It has been mostly dead since at least 2008. It is (was) a great place. A 70s ultra mod behemoth. ;) I recommend a visit in its last days open to the public. I just uploaded a video of it with some new and vintage footage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqfEh3isfriho5I
