We had one here in Sumter called Dairy Cream. It was opened in 1949 but closed about 5 years ago. The building was taken over by another restaurant. It was a walk up old fashioned place. Tiny building. You got a good eye. Hope ya'll have a good Christmas.

The Dairy Treet Victoria Texas closed down a year ago two structural problems now they have discovered the the foundation is cacked they'll have to remodel it and rebuild it from the top to the bottom

I sure hope this place opens up again soon. Too vintage

I think the problem is they don't have the money to fix the building the foundation all that's messed up on it it's a shame that sad you're right to Vintage

Probably why it's never reopened way too much money to fix it it'll say abandoned for the rest of time

This place reminds me of a combination of Sonic and Dairy Queen with some of the aesthetics Too bad this place is kinda hurting with the structural problems, I would imagine it must have been a decent place to get some food.

I'm a 59 yr old man, I grew up in the east side of Austin. There was a Pool hall/grill/bar in our barrio for 50 yrs. I seen riots, suicides, murders, and lots of awesome nights. It was our home, away from home, our second home. We literally were there everyday. We ate there, played pool, pinball machines, then pac man, and other video games . The owners finally got too old to run it, and shut it down in 1991. It sat abandoned for yrs, then when they demolished it, I went and gathered a few masonry rocks that were part of the walls. And there was a sign in the form of an arrow, with bulbs still standing. I took the sign home, and later, I used the stones/masonry rocks, in the walls of my home.

The concrete foundation is still there, I'm going to pay someone to go cut out a section, so I can turn it into a bench for my front porch. The same section, where I sat many hours, for yrs, looking down the street, waiting for my homeys to come hang out. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
