That things makin fuel !!!!! I’m so glad you got the thing moving forward it felt like I was working on it !!!!! The shifter switch has to be it . I was wondering if it got parked because it quit running or it quit going forward being out in the weather probably caused switches to corrode . I guess a double pole 3 position switch will need replaced . What happens when your going forward with the jumper wire on and you put the selector in neutral ? What would happen if you were in forward and shifter the shifter to reverse ? If both engaged at the same time while traveling it may tear a bunch of stuff up . Not been much on KZbin lately the Johnny Depp and Amber saga I clicked on that one time now it’s everywhere how glad I was to see your video and then running the 310 in forward !!! So happy how about ya !!!!

Very interesting. I have a 410-D that had the exact same issue with trying to go forward. While I take care of most all the issues that develop, I couldn't figure that one out. I had to trailer it to the shop where they did repair it. The diagnosis? They told me they had to dismantle the transmission and that a small spring was broken and that was causing the issue. I don't recall how much they charged, but it wasn't cheap as you can imagine. Now I doubt their honesty after seeing what you found. KZbin comes in handy for a lot of things and your video was enlightening to say the least. Very nice job and I'm glad you shared what you found out. Thank you!

The current tractor list on my almond ranch in California. '39 cat d47U (running), 60s international 504 (running) late 50s international utility 350 (running), early 50's Oliver oc3 crawler (running), late 70's Massey Ferguson 50 backhoe (motor locked up, and all attempts have failed so far) 80's Massey Ferguson 1020 with loader (was running until clutch went out last month). All these tractors were non running yard art when we brought them home with the exception of the ocs3 which was bought by my great grandfather new but took loads of time to get running again. That's why I love your videos. We do the same thing every weekend. Keep them coming.

Great news to hear! 😎 This turned out to be a "Will it go forward?" Video.....lol. It's possible the problem was on the steering column shift lever all along. Some people think the shift lever moves gears, but it's actually just a switch between F-N-R and I think that column shifter was bad. I'd think about putting a new shifter in it and see what happens. Just my opinion, of course. Congratulations Hank!! 👍 🚜

Lol! Way to go Hank! Only took you a year to figure it out! Goes to show you even a blind squirrel finds a nut along the way! Glad to see it finally getting to come around. Now as to a temporary solution for the shifting. Why not get some wiring connectors an some wire and use a three way toggle switch to go forward and backwards. Mount it on the console or the steering column for easability and run it till you get it rewired permanently. So it's workready. Then since you put in that shootout on paw in law hit him up to just keep the 310 there for farm use. Perfect suck up on the inlaws! Lol! Then later give it a good washing and scruff it up a bit and give it a shot of new paint be perfect then to put Hamiltonville Farms on its sides and do offsite jobs to make a little cash to buy more farm equipment for the place. As always enjoy your videos! Just surprised that Wiley wasn't around to see the triumphant victory for getting her moving!! 😳 Take care and looking forward to the next chapter in Hv Farms!

Did you cut the wires? Or were they pulled by a stick or something else while it was in use? I would try repairing the wires before anything else and test. See if you can find a schematic for the shift circuit and go from there first. If it has to have power on two wires you should be able to turn on the switch and shift to forward and see which wire is hot then reverse the same way to make connections. Wires should be marked with numbers about every 8-12” starting at the plug. If you can identify the wire numbers easily makes repair easier.

the fuel could be returning to the main tank which is why it drank it out of the can so quick. and for the transmission a two position switch would work for the direction change.

I think you have to connect those wires to shift selector, just rewire it then you wont have mess arround gauge cluster. Otherwise you will have extra button or selector also couple more wires which is not necessary. A multimeter and some cables will solve your problem. good catch btw, interesting thing is it has 2 feed lines on selenoid, like a regular relay, so they has 2 functions. I really liked that machine, it is really good to have in any farm. Congrats finally you solved the problem Hank. Over the decades I learned everything about computers all by my self by just jumping in feet first. If I gave up on a issue that got me stumped to the point I'll just have someone else fix it. I would not have learned how to build / fix computers to the point people comes to me to get their computers fixed. Also I know how to do electronic repair which comes in handy for dealing with computers that you believe is having hardware issues.

Shore is nice to see you again! Somewhat disappointing , nice to have new equipment to run but really thought you would have some vintage iron to operate around the farm. I run D2 Cats a 1947 Lima crane and a 1947 Autocar in my dooryard.

That's funny because I have a Toro self propelled lawn mower for my yard. Wish I had some land but I have a 1/4 acre yard. With the price of land today I'll be waiting for the Mansion Jesus is building for us. Love to visit with you there.
