Abandoned dog in a truck stop appears after many hours of waiting!

I have no idea how his life would have ended without a rescue - I don't even want to think about it! Luckily, someone knew to call Hope For Paws for help and the rest is in this video. 😊
I know I haven't posted in a while and I'm sorry about that - we just had some bad luck here. First, Justin, our video editor, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, so he was out of commission for a few months, and a few weeks ago, Loreta and I got hit on the freeway by another car. 😓
The past two weeks have been a complete nightmare for me with terrible pain - I couldn't even think it was so bad (still not over). Our Hope For Paws rescue vehicle should be fixed in two weeks or so - a bunch of parts were back-ordered. 😖
The good news is that Justin is now back to editing videos (part-time), and he started working on catching up - just because we were a little quiet, doesn't mean we're not working to save lives.

It is not unlikely that this dog might have gotten lost or run away and the owners cannot find him, even IF he is unchipped. Way up "north" like Eldad wrote has a lot of sheep or cattle ranches -- perfect for having this breed of dog around. People don't just "dump" such a pure-bred valuable dog -- when they could "sell" it, so-to-speak.

Yes, there is SO MUCH inattentive driving in the LA area because it's not illegal to text, etc while driving --- You can't be stopped for it unless you run a stop sign or something. ANYWAY, I put Eldad, Loretta, and Justin all in our powerful Worldwide Healing Prayer Circle.

@@Dan5819It is illegal to drive and text in California. Doing anything with your phone or similar device while holding it and driving is illegal. Anything you want to use it for, like making a call, must be done hands-free. I double-checked via the CA Office of Traffic Safety.

My red heeler was an older abandoned stray I adopted from the pound, because of her age no one wanted her and thankfully I found her just in time. She's been with me almost 4 years, she's about 12 and I've made sure they're the best years of her life. My other dingbrat in the pic is a brindle orphaned wild born tropical dingo from the top of Northern Territory Australia.

Who would abandon such a wonderful Australian cattle dog. Smart and loyal, devoted to service of their masters. They sell for $1000s in Australia and ‘take the rattle out of the cattle’ as opposed to mustering by helicopter or ATVs. I pray he finds a home that allows him to use his intelligence and sometimes limitless energy.

Yes, purebred and very well trained blueys, kelpies and border collies do sell for tens of thousands in Aussie and amazing how many stations are returning to dogs to muster their stock - keeps them calmer!!

Fyi tho, HFP has traveled out of state to help in really bad cases where no one else has been able to catch the dog. They did one one time on the east coast I think, dog's paw was locked in a horrible animal trap but nobody could get near it after trying for weeks. Eldad & crew to the rescue, it was brutal but the HFP angels finally succeeded.... Thank God for ALL the good rescuers, vets, foster homes. God bless all of them!

If a dog growls at me I would be nervous but that don't stop you with all the love and compassion you have you still rescue as many as you can. It just really breaks my heart to see any of them abandoned or abused or injured. Eldad, I'm so glad that you and Loretta and Justin are on the mend now, & sad that those accidents ever happened. I wondered where you all were, as did countless others. You all take the time you need to recuperate: it takes patience to be a patient! We all understand! I wonder if Bobbi had a nice home before? I love it when the animals are so happy after they realize they are being rescued and not harmed. Some of them appear to love a good meal, a warm bath and love and attention. God says that animals are God's innocent. Who could not love an innocent animal? Thank God there are people like you who are willing to give their time and attention to rescuing and loving animals. I like the way you rescue the dogs as well as the puppies, some rescues overlook the larger dogs and leave them behind. Thank You.
