We visited there in October 2018. We loved Rishikesh, and being huge Beatles fans the Maharishi's Ashram is special. The place was almost deserted, and was lovely and peaceful. We met some friendly travellers from China who used our camera to take photos of us before the huge Beatles murals. Not sure whether it should be restored or they should Let It Be. (Sorry.)

@@sonadhillon1653 if you want to stay close to Ganga and nayure then go to Tapovan area. You will find hotels and camps. And you can do hiking and go to a hidden waterfall in that area.

I do at times. This time I wanted to travel very light, I’m also traveling to only very hot countries so I ditched them this time. If you’re staying in just SEA, unless you love boots and wear them all the time, probably wear an all around good pair of shoes or light boots like chukkas
