International's are fun to get parts for. They used parts from everyone and each truck was different. The had a line setting ticked which list the parts use to build your truck. My father had one and they used three different master cyilders on the 1972 models. Two different distributors. I called IH and they told me the places that line setting ticked were hidden in the truck because people missplace them often.

I had a '65 Scout with a 152ci . Still have the intake and carb from it in my shed. Probably bolt right on to Bob the binder ! The Scout had an electric fuel pump and a boat tank when I bought it. We threw a new battery in it, and sprayed liberal amounts of Cosby sauce down the carb. Then we found the toggle for the electric fuel pump. She fired , and shot out a flame about 3 foot tall out the carb. Melted an old bath mat right to the carb trying to put it out. Drove it home.

The dented in cab roof saga......Every good ole farm boy has two bales of hay in the bed as guest seating for people who show up to the Keg party. He saw this sweet hefty gal eyeing his rig and after 6 or 10 who's counting red cups of suds decided to take a picture of his new found love interest on the most prestigious spot of honor he could think of so as she ascended the hay bale steps to glory turned around and losing her balance plopped down on the roof abruptly caving it in and blowing out the back window in the process. I used to hate those four cylinder motors..... then when the saw mill engine blew up, I looked and said "with some electric bolts to hold things together, we can make it work for a few days". I took a whole day switching engines around and getting to look more permanent all the time, It fired up and after a good hour of arguing about how safe my work wasn't, we put the damn thing on line... it stayed there till we sold that mill. Had enough torque to get through the circle saw as when it catches its stride, it would really do a great job and it was quieter than the Wisconsin it used to have. Biggest problem was sawdust in radiator then. Other than parts, and yes there are a lot of parts when looking for specific ones. A person needs to fix the parts one with a parts donor truck that is nice but the stuff that you don't need are good to sell.

Poor Binder Bob! - if you have stuck pistons in clutch cylinders etc try holding the cylinder in your hand and hitting the cyl on the open end with a copper hammer I was showed it by an old guy and it works a treat

Thanks for restoring those old IH vintage trucks, everyone one are just concentrating on the big 3 if you have problem finding a in line six I believe they share the same motor with the farmall tractors or diammond trucks they built them back on the day day just for display they built them as a work horse you take care for them a little they serve in your whole life time my uncle use them for his business and they outlive him too bad cousins got reed of the trucks I have a R 130 still all original except for the alternator as I said I convert it to 12 volts majority of electrical you can use ac delco as far as the rear end you use late model ring and pinion up 60s and you’ll be able to use it on the highway mind works well one thing I like with thier engine is the cam is gear to gear no belt no timing chain to change just regular maintenance oil change coolant and all very forgiving trucks I have a 4 speed I always start on the second gear coz the first gear is a granny gear its for pulling heavy weight thanks for restoring as I said put back their dignity they deserve thanks!
