Abandoned FC RX7 Engine Build & Install.

The engine that was in the abandoned FC had incredibly low oil pressure, I pulled it and found out the cam bearings were shot, so we're installing the leftover L33 5.3 Aluminum block setup out of my LS Miata! Should make about 100 more whp!

I watch a ton of youtubers, including Cleetus, OffTheRanch, LZ and others... But to this day, i'm proud to say, I look forward to Taylor's videos most. Nobody else gives such in depth info about their build and actually teaches and gives tips to their audience. I've watched Taylor for years and i just keep learning new cool stuff every time I watch a new episode.

My dad would use a large bottom tap on pilot bushing and 98 times out of a hundred it would come right out after I tried grease puller etc an screwed it up and the freeze plug would never be touched. I miss his life hacks RIP big Jim.

It's still absolutely baffling to me how large the engine bay actually is on the FC. Like, it starts out with a tiny motor to begin with but they still gave you just SO MUCH ROOM. I will always love a stock FC. It's just got such simple and beautiful wedge body lines. Unfortunately, most people swap the front bumper or wide body it and the balance is spoiled because of that. You can still make it a beautiful car with aftermarket body kits, but it's a lot of work and expense to get back to the same level of sophisticated beauty that it started out as. A shame yours kinda needs a new front fender.

Just an idea. Find a large tap and the appropriate size bolt for those pilot bushes and make a basic puller, just for those moments Its a bronze alloy it will tap like butter. Its junk anyways. May as well make life easier. Love the content Taylor.

Picked up the Milwaukee M12 right--angle disc/die grinder and holy shit is it an awesome tool. How the hell have I gone without it this long?!? Absolutely recommend getting one if you work on cars/engines. Even for little stuff like cleaning up the heads of bolts on your motor....to cleaning gasket off via Roloc white bristle. After seeing Taylor use one for so long I had to finally go get one and add to my stable of Milwaukee impacts, ratchets, sawzall, multi tool and leaf blower.

How to remove a spigot bearing. Get a drift wood or brass or other soft metal that is a tight fit into the bearing, fill in behind the bearing with grease or soap then drive the drift into the hole forcing the bearing out. Another method is to get a bit of wood or bar that just fits then cross drill into the bearing and insert screws to anchor in the bar then attach a slide hammer.

Hopefully this isn't a problem, but if memory serves, when you put in the dry sump in the LS, you put in a new billet dumbbell thing, and I thought you said it changes the way that the oil flows. Does that need to come out of this engine now that it is on a wet sump system?
