Abandoned Gadsden, Alabama Steel Plant - DJI Mavic Pro Footage - 60 Days In Town

At 1:18, the area at the top right corner used to be a Vulcan Materials slag plant where my Dad worked. Back around '71 I was in the 4th grade and used to go with him on Saturdays where he'd do a little work and I'd drink coffee, eat sugar cubes and try to go exploring at the Republic Steel plant next door. Only problem was that it would be in operation, the trains were always moving and I knew my Dad would whip my ass if I got lost over there. Back then Republic and Goodyear were basically the Gadsden economy. It was a fun time to be a kid.

A lot of my family worked there. I worked there in the 80s. Sad to see that it's abandoned.

I live in gadsden. that part of hannah is not in use but it's not abandoned haha they've torn down most of those smoke stacks but that area just isn't in use. I'd love to see inside that middle building and the top view ofr the smoke stacks though I've always wondered what they look like.
