A few years ago, a few of my friends and I kayaked down the blackwater from fermoy to youghal. The old period properties are simply stunning. Never mind lismore castle. Flying a drone and paddling down the river would be unreal footage.

At 1:41 you can see a satelitte dish at roof level on the right, inside the roofless block....that would suggest the building was lived in until at least the late 1990's or early 2000's.

I think there was a hippy/alternative lifestyle commune here in the 70-80's.

The Unification Church (Moonies) lived there in the 1970's. You should contact local historian Pat O'Connor in nearby Kilworth to see if he has further insights.
