Hi Guys!
This week I go on a road trip to Central Nevada in search of an old ghost town and mining camp called Nivloc, Nevada. This old ghost town has a old train trestle, old homes and warehouse and the old mine itself! I had a great road trip out to the desert and enjoyed exploring the Nevada desert!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode. Reminds me of my childhood summer visits to Colorado, where my cousins took me up into the deserted mining towns and we played in all the crumbling miner's houses. We went into the mines too, but not far, climbed up the slag heaps and had a wonderful time. Back then, you could buy the shacks for just the taxes owed on them... which might be like... $400. There were old mining offices with the huge old mine's record books still therem, pages blowing back and forth in the wind. Thanks for the memory journey!

Carbide was used for light. They would drip water onto the carbide, it then emits flammable gas ( acetylene, had to look it up. haha) which was lit for light. A flame like an oil lantern. Old cars used to have similar lights before halogens became cheap and abundent.

"Go ahead, make my lunch" - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA BURSTED out in laughter I did! Neat place! I love too see these old buildings. My family used to go camping at the Kern River- Kernvile/Lake Isabella area. I remember this old town called Onyx (you could throw a rock from end to end -it was so small) There was this old abandoned General Store and I remember the cupboards in there being so high as to almost hit the ceiling. Of course being a kid everything seemed tall and bigger, I remember asking my parents if Paul Bunyan came here to shop? 🤣🥾

That's so cool that the old core samples are still there! I'd love to visit that part of the world. Although America so developed, the vastness of the wilderness makes it seem like it still has some mystery and magic in it. Thanks for the video Chris

The construction of these buildings is really well done. They don’t build anything so we’ll anymore; this was craftsmanship made TO LAST. Imagine what our world would look like if it was still important to build things so they would stand and function for centuries. rather 2. Years or 20 years? They say we make too much pollution, well you know why? Because our society has been structured to a Chinese disposable consumerism economy. Cheap is EXPENSIVE in the long run; buy good leather boots for twice the price and you will still have them 50+ years later if you take care of them; plastic boots don’t even last a season. . My toaster built in USA fifty years ago, still works My house is over 80 years old, strong and still standing.

Very interesting video! So many core samples! All left out there in the desert. If those buildings could speak, what stories they could tell of the miners' day to day lives working underground.
